Greetings from the Land of Enchantment! My name is Ms. Schenk. I am from San Antonio, Texas, and I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in English. I started teaching full time in Burkina Faso, West Africa, as a Peace Corps volunteer. Then, I moved to rural New Mexico and taught on the edge of the Navajo Nation for six years. Afterwards, I moved to a more urban location where I taught for four years before returning to the reservation this year. When teaching in a rather bleak classroom filled with over one hundred students in Burkina, I never imagined that several years later I would have the opportunity to teach with all of the resources available to me here in the United States. Donorschoose.org helps me find the best materials available for my students to keep them inspired throughout the year. I look forward to seeing what my students will achieve in the future with your help!
