Project Based Materials
Funded Aug 15, 2023This year I was able to think ahead of all that would be needed and turn to you for financial assistance. I am beyond grateful that you have taken this weight off my shoulders!
The materials that were purchased cover a plethora of projects that I love to do with my second grades throughout the year. I will attach a few photos from those that have already been realized. These include a writing resource I was able to put together with flip charts that students utilize while writing paragraphs or essays as informational, narrative, and opinion texts. We have also begun to travel the world with our 'suitcases' to study their holidays and traditions. Our class has experienced Hanukkah in Israel, Christmas in Sweden with Tomten the gnome, and Los Posadas along with El Dia de Los Reyes in Mexico! Our next stop is China for Chinese New Year, then Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and back to the United States.
These kinds of projects and experiences could not be possible without the materials we were able to purchase! Many thanks for your kindness once again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Sasiela

Funded Aug 2, 2023We are loving the clipboards! My students were very intrigued by the rainbow of colors that graced our classroom in the form of these clipboards. We have been able to utilize them most during our math centers when students transitioned from table to table. It kept their work mobile and organized - a skill we continue to master in second grade.
With so many materials, such as workbooks, manipulatives, and pieces that need to be cut and glued - the clipboards have been extremely beneficial for student organization and efficiency!
However, it does not stop there. The possibilities are truly endless! I am already looking forward to warmer weather when students can "clip in" their learning and take it outside. In previous years, I recall students bent over their work on the rubber mat in the schoolyard. Then just as they would lift their heads, a gust of wind would blow their paper away. Well this is now a problem of the past, and for that I sincerely thank you! As my very first fully-funded project, I simply cannot thank you enough!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Sasiela
