Multisensory Activities For Literacy Centers
Funded Apr 16, 2024I am beyond grateful of the generosity that was given to support my kindergarten students. The majority of my students are multilingual learners and learning a language other than their native language can be challenging, especially if it's their first time being in school. All the materials are being utilized in literacy centers for students to practice letter fluency and decoding words in a multi-sensory way. Literacy centers is their favorite part of the day, they are so happy to use all these materials because they are reinforcing their literacy skills in an interactive learning environement with their classmates. I already see growth in letter recognition, decoding words and in their oral language.
I want my students to be confident readers; therefore providing materials in a fun engaging way gives them opportunites to succeed. Right now they are indentifying letters and reading cvc words, soon they will start reading words with digraphs, blends and suffix -s and -es. I am thankful for having these materials that allowed me to build a foundation in their literacy development.”

Funded Aug 31, 2023I am beyond grateful for your genoristy in supporting my classroom. Your donation allowed me to create a colorful vibrant classroom by making color charts for reading, writing and math. As an elementary school teacher, creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere is essential. I teach Kindergarten, for many of them is their first time in school; therefore, making colorful charts, posters provides as a resource for students to use when working independently.
Using a color printer also allowed me to be creative by making color worksheets and activities to support my students in their phonological skills to enhance their reading skills. Having color worksheets supports my students visually and are more engaged to complete the task efficiently.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for your donations. My students and I are incredibly grateful for the support you have given to us to make learning fun. Literacy centers are my students favorite time of the day. This is the time when students are actively engaging with hands on activities to become better readers and writers. When I introduced the supplies they were going to use for centers there eyes lit up and had the biggest smiles I ever seen.
When students saw the magnetic letters and snap on letter blocks they were so excited to use it to build and read cvc words. Using these hand on materials supports my students in letter recognition, phonemic awareness and supports my kinesthetic learners. It provides my students abilities to manipulate letters in a more engaging and meaningful way to read cvc words. My students also enjoyed sight words memory game. They had the sight words flipped over and they need to find the sight word the player is looking for. Identifying sight words is essential for my students to master because they encounter with these words in books and in everyday life. These materials are supporting my students to read books.
My kindergarten students enjoy literacy centers everyday. These materials have made them more enthusiastic to enjoy love reading and become writers. Thank you so much for all the support.”
