Kindergartners Play to Write
Funded Oct 25, 2009Thank you so much for these wonderful new gross motor activities. My students were sure that our school had turned into a fun carnival when we tried them out today! Your generosity was celebrated in a very big and happy way.
My teacher heart is so excited that the students are excited to practice vital skills. I don't think that they believed me or particularly cared when I told them that the activities would make them better writers in the long run, but I am certainly thrilled by the prospect. They just thought that the activities were fun, fun, fun and wanted to do them over and over again, which is perfectly right for kindergartners.
Your generosity has made a difference in each of their lives and the lives of future students as well.”

Kindergarten Reading Excitement
Funded Nov 23, 2009Thank you so much for the wonderful TAG pens! As you can see from my students' faces, they love to use them to read stories and explore the amazing comprehension activities. Our third grade book buddies love to share them, too.
My students enjoy the pens so much that they even self-select them over toys during free choice time. Let me tell you, there are few things that cause a teachers heart rejoice more than seeing a child choose to read a book when there are fun toys available.
You have helped create a lifelong love of reading for each of my students this year and in years to come. Thanks for making a difference!

Activity Story Books for Kindergarten
Funded Oct 12, 2009Thank you so much for your generous gifts of wonderful books for our classroom. The students already love their TAG pens and they were so excited to have new books that they can read and explore with (and without) their pens.
The parents see the excitement and know that their children love learning. Many of my Spanish speakers were so excited to experience the new bilingual books. The high interest stories and science exploration cards were exclaimed over by all.
You have helped create a lifetime of reading excitement and literary enjoyment for my eager kindergarten readers.
Thank you!”

Exciting Independent Reading
Funded Sep 28, 2009Thank you so much for giving my students this opportunity to interact with books in an exciting way. I wish you could have heard their exclamations of, "The book is talking to me!" and "I can hear the words!" The students were pleading with anyone who entered the room to read with the new pens all day long!
I am looking forward to the assessment results of this group. I am sure that their reading comprehension, fluency and phonics will all improve with this access to interactive, age appropriate learning technology. You have made a difference in the lives of children.”

Kindergarten Animal Scientists
Funded Sep 21, 2009Thank you so much for our exciting new animal science discovery tools! The students were amazed as they experienced our new activity cards for the first time. I wish you could have heard their exclamations of, "I heard the animal!" and, "The pen is talking to me in my ear!"
You have made hours of fun, interactive learning about animals possible through your generous gifts and we all appreciate it so much! You have enabled my students to be engaged and excited about reaching and exceeding our science observation and characteristics standards. Moreover, you have helped me lay a foundation of excitement for lifelong learning.”

Clean Water for Kindergarten
Funded Sep 12, 2009Thank you again so much for our new water bottles. The students have been drinking so much more water and keeping their brains hydrated and ready to learn. They love their new bottles and have been using them at every opportunity. Our exercise program keeps their bodies fit- you have made it possible for them to be even more healthy with fresh, clean water in their re-usable water bottles. Thank you for making it possible for us to care for the whole child, not just the academic content. You have made a difference in each of our lives.”

Increasing Class Size Means Not Enough Centers
Funded Sep 4, 2009Thank you so much for these needed materials! Now we have enough centers for each child to work independently and improve important kindergarten skills. As you can see in the pictures, the students are hard at work exploring the new materials and concepts. They love the challenge offered by the magnet counting boards and community puzzles. Most have already added concepts of shorter and taller into their vocabulary thanks to the wooden height puzzles. They were excited to practice lacing shapes and I was thrilled that it fit perfectly into our "shapes by feel" lesson today. We practiced probability with our new bean counters, too. Each of us so appreciates your generosity. You have helped create a classroom of joyful learners!”

Art for Kindergarten
Funded Mar 24, 2009Thank you all for supporting art in my kindergarten classroom! As you can see from the pictures, the students were thrilled to press and feel textures with the dough tools, use the new metallic markers on black paper, and make patterns with the new paint rollers. Soon we will be making collages, stringing beads, and thinking up new projects and creations.
Please know that your gifts have made a wonderful change in the lives of my students. You have provided experiences for my students that they would otherwise certainly not have. The difference you have made will enrich their both their education and development into well rounded people. The appreciation that all of us have for your generosity cannot be adequately put into words.”

Kindergarten Science Activities
Funded Apr 23, 2009Thank you so much for these wonderful learning materials! The students have been so excited about the new color windows, geometry builders, and sorting pictures for seasons, senses, and plants.
In fact, older kids heard the news and began visiting my classroom in the morning and begging to use the geometry builders! The feeling that you get when kids are excited about learning is one of the best things about being a teacher. Words cannot express the appreciation that I have for all of you for making this possible.
The pictures show the students exploring colors by holding the transparent paddles up to the light, a "geometry builder crowd," and students sorting color photos into five sense categories. You can almost see the brain connections being created and reinforced!”

Singing Our Way To Literacy And Learning
Funded Apr 21, 2009We were so excited to receive our new music this week! The songs and rhythms are helping make learning both fun and memorable. The kindergartners love the new songs and fun twists on familiar favorites.
My students have especially enjoyed the visuals that the song books provide and gladly take turns sharing the books and turning pages as they sing and listen.
Thank you again so much for your generosity and for taking the time to log on to Donors Choose in support of classrooms and education. I love my job, but find it difficult to offer my students all that they need and deserve. Thanks for making these important experiences possible. You have changed the lives of children!”
