My school is located in an urban setting. I teach fourth grade mathematics for approximately 30 under-privilege students daily. It is not uncommon to have 5 students that require modifications in order to be successful. It is also not uncommon to have 5 students absent on a daily basis. When students needing modifications have their tests or text read aloud they comprehend the information as well or better than their peers. Unfortunately, most of my students do not have someone at home to read to or with them while they work on their homework. In addition, most of my students do not have access to our school website from home.
