  • Carpet Time

    Funded Dec 31, 2022

Thank you so much for kind donations! We use this rug daily, and we love it! Our class discussions feel so much more productive with the defined seating spaces outlined on this carpet. Students know exactly where to sit and who to talk to for partner talks.

We use this rug as a comfortable place to grab a book and pillow to read, a space to extend mathematical thinking with games, and just a general meeting area.

We are excited to continue to use this space throughout the rest of the year! We feel like even more of a class family when we gather on this beautiful and functional carpet.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. S.

  • Liven Up Our Library!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

My fourth graders cannot keep themselves away from our classroom library now, all thanks to you! My class is falling in love with reading all over again by exploring new book genres and topics they would have once avoided.

We introduced the newest genres such as historical fiction, graphic novels, and biographies through a book tasting. In this activity students "tasted" a new book, jotted down what they did and didn't like about it, and if they would recommend the genre to a friend.

My students are reading at every opportunity, trying more challenging books, and opening their hearts and minds to exploring new ideas!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. S.

  • Let's Escape Into Exciting Books!

    Funded Sep 6, 2021

Our fourth grade class has LOVED diving into these new books. Our updated library has rejuvenated our love of reading while introducing us to new genres, characters, and information.

We engaged in a book tasting to get an idea of which genres we love and which ones we are willing to give a try. We are reading whenever we get the chance and sharing our book recommendations with each other.

We have especially enjoyed reading some classics like the Goosebumps Series, graphic novels, and the I Survived series.”

  • Spring into Learning with SeeSaw

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

My students and I cannot thank you enough for helping us to continue using SeeSaw learning. My students all have various strengths, as any group of people do! SeeSaw has allowed them to express themselves and share their ideas in the way best for their own individual needs.

My students were so excited to learn they would be able to record videos of themselves acting out stories, draw pictures with colorful creative digital tools, take pictures of themselves and their work, as well as record their own voices all in one spot!

My entire class learns remotely everyday, often they are going to doctors appointments or are staying with another family member due to COVID in their homes. SeeSaw has allowed them to seamlessly continue remote learning, no matter where they are, because of all of its features. We would be lost without it!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. S.

  • Hands-On Remote Learning!

    Funded Sep 6, 2020

My students are doing amazing work during remote learning thanks to your thoughtful donations! We are so successful at home with the new materials, we sometimes forget we aren't in school! The math tools have allowed them to gain a deep understanding of taking numbers apart and putting them together. Their whiteboards also allow them to quickly jot down their ideas to share with the class in math. They use the stylus tools to annotate on the screen as another method for teaching each other, and this just in math!

We are able to use the stylus tools, whiteboards, and notebooks to help us make sure our handwriting stays neat and practice our spelling! We use the dry erase boards to help learn trick words, and deepen our phonetic knowledge.

Our FAVORITE special subject is art! The drawing materials we have received from your generosity have gotten great use in all of the art projects we have created.

There aren't enough words or pictures to express how much we appreciate your help in these unprecedented times. Please know that my students and I are so grateful for your helping in bringing some of the classroom to our homes!”

  • Help us Teach Each Other with Technology!

    Funded May 7, 2019

Revealing our new classroom technology was such a thrill in first grade. When I showed the students the technology cart and document camera they were shocked and ecstatic! For so long we were fumbling around an old classroom desk and running between easels to show our thinking. Now, we can teach each other with ease!

We dove right into using the cart and camera! First graders just love to show off their math skills. We all took turns modeling times on clocks and showing how to write time to the hour and the half hour. We also shared all about being a good citizen in our community. We discussed ways to respect our environment in school, at home, and globally. We had a blast sharing our writing and illustrations about citizenship on the SmartBoard screen!”

    With gratitude,

  • Help Rising Road Runners Improve Their Skills!

    Funded Oct 13, 2017

My young runners are having a blast using all of the equipment that you helped us get! They are practicing their agility with the agility ladders and cones, they are balancing on the stones, and having a blast jumping over the hurdles. They keep themselves nice an hydrated with the awesome water bottles and are looking forward to earning their medals at the end of the year.

The students could not believe their eyes when they saw all of the wonderful equipment! They all began to cheer and jump for joy (literally)! They are always eager to use everything each time we meet, and we will continue to use all of the amazing resources in new and creative ways.”

  • Learn, Eat, Recycle!

    Funded May 24, 2017

When we first received the materials, the green team was beyond thrilled. They could not wait to help distribute the new bins. They are even more excited to predict and observe which materials will decompose and which will remain the same in our new compost viewer!

The entire school is benefiting from having the proper recycling bins in each classroom, even the staff in the teacher's lounge too! Our green team has been able to make sure that each room in the school has all three necessary recycling bins. When delivering the bins to each room the students reinforced that the green bin is for paper, the blue is for hard plastics, and the black is for trash you can smash.”

  • Help Get Us to the FunRun!

    Funded Apr 17, 2017

Our trip to the Fun Run was amazing! Thanks to you, the runners were able to participate in EVERY event! They started the day with the 1/2 mile fun run, which every single student completed! Next we participated in the potato sack rack race, the obstacle course, the parachute, the relay race, the egg balance, and the bean bag toss. The students could not stop laughing, smiling, and running around!

The fifth grades especially loved the Parade of Schools. It was another chance for these young runners to stand together and represent their school one last time before graduation. The entire team also had a blast watching me run the Coaches 100-meter dash (and winning it)! It was hard for the students to pick one favorite event, but they said if they could only pick one it would be the obstacle course.

The trip allowed my runners to see their own strengths. After returning from our trip, I saw more and more students setting their lap goals higher and higher. Not only did they set the goals higher, but they reached and surpassed their goals too! We even had 5 students run over 13.1 miles this year in Mighty Milers (that is a half marathon)! None of this would have possible with your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. S.

  • Second Grade Physicists!

    Funded Feb 8, 2017

The second physicists have been very busy learning all about force and motion with the help of the resources, thanks to you! When the students first opened the materials, they totally flipped! They could not wait to learn all about force and motion with cars, ramps, balloons, and more. Planning and build the STEAM cars has been amazing to watch and hear. The scientists are connecting all of their new knowledge to build a car that will reach the finish line, in style too thanks to the artist aspect of this project!

We are busy finishing up our cars now, but next we will be learning all about plants-- perfect for the end of the year! The kids will learn all about the parts of a plant, how they reproduce and why they are so important.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. S.
