    Firstly, I'd like to start by thanking you, as deeply and profoundly as I could, for making these resources available for my students. As a counselor, I service almost 620 students, and at times, the students find it difficult to really describe the things they are experiencing. It is through literature that they have been able to express themselves and share their innermost thoughts. I have found that through the experiences of the characters, they are learning about what is right, what is wrong, and applying it directly to their life choices. My little ones, in kinder - second grade, really utilize the images, as well, to help them express themselves. My kiddos and I are very grateful for your donations, and we will continue to use the books you have allowed us to access, for many years to come.”

Books like "My Mouth is A Volcano" and "I Am Peace" allow me to present problems to my kids in a way that is suitable to them and serve as catalysts for conversation.   • Getting TECH-nical!

    Because of your assistance in making this project a reality, I have been able to incorporate technology into multiple facets of my instructional practice. My students have been able to conduct research, complete i-Ready assignments, work collaboratively to gather and publish information. I have been able to do classroom rotations where I have students working on the laptops while I am instructing the others, allowing me to work in smaller groups. The students have shown better grasp of difficult concepts because of this, and I am so proud of them for the work they have conducted. I do not know how to thank you for this opportunity, especially since this was a project that I had been working on for about a year. It is with great gratitude that the children and I send you this letter. It is because of you that this opportunity has been made a reality for my babies and for me.”

  • A Whole New World of Words

    I teach third grade, and with the amount of testing and stress my babies have been under, it has proven difficult to have a moment to really thank you for your help. I wanted to thank you for the supplies you helped fund for our classroom. Given the low SES community I work with, the dictionaries have proven invaluable to our learning. They have allowed the children true independence and allowed them to gain confidence in understanding the English language.

    The boards and posits and stickers have allowed me to use my classroom as a living canvas, showing them to work in groups, displaying their work, and allowing me to display my own. The additions to my classroom library opened my children's minds to a "whole new world of words," which, truly, was my goal.

    As an educator, I want to help mold well-rounded individuals, who are intrinsically motivated to learn. The only way to do that is to build confidence in their skills, and you have allowed me the opportunity to do so. It is with great pleasure that I say "Thank you," from the bottom my my heart, for making this school year a success.”
