As an educator at a low-income/high poverty school, my students face many challenges in and out of the classroom. The majority of our student population is on free or reduced lunch and many of them have little or no academic support at home. My class has a wide-range of abilities including gifted and talented as well as those with special needs, and many of my students are reluctant readers. Despite these challenges, it is my job to provide all of my students with the most creative and meaningful learning experiences possible.
