I cannot believe how generous the donors are on this site. This gives so many teachers and classrooms and students an opportunity to build an amazing community and environment for students to learn and succeed in. I am so grateful for the donations towards this project and I know my students will be so excited to start creating.”

First I want to thank you for being so generous and helping me to complete another project with Donors Choose. This project has been so much fun. We recently started a new after school club through an organization called Girls Who Code. It is for third through fifth grade girls and we do fun coding activities as well as other stem related projects. We have started building a couple different items from the kits that we received from this project. They have done a fantastic job of collaborating together and working to follow the directions and build a mini drawing robot and a mini music box. I will also be using some of the items from these kits with my 5th graders during science whenever we work on our physical science unit. The great thing about these stem boxes is that there are multiple projects in each box. Thank you so much for helping make learning more fun!”

This is such a huge project to get funded and it is all thanks to donors! We could not be any more grateful for the new equipment. We have already used the camera for the first few assemblies of the school year and the spelling bee. The students in the Yearbook Committee have been learning how to properly use and take care of the camera. They have been taking it all very seriously. We appreciate your support in helping us with our yearbook photographs and being able to foster an interest of students that will hopefully last a lifetime.”

Thank you for your generosity! We received both class sets of books just in time to be able to utilize them. Students are much more engaged when they have their own copy of a book to be able to read along. The class sets of books also come in handy when students are absent or just want to revisit a portion of the book to reread. The Coraline book was much enjoyed by the fifth graders. Tuck Everlasting had an amazing plot line that the students were eager to finish. Thank you again for donating to our classroom and helping me to make it an amazing place for my students.”

This is one of my favorite projects to get funded. Since it is a yearly subscription, I get so excited to know that we can use this program for another year. BrainPOP gets used in every subject that we teach and is used multiple times a week. The supplemental challenges and quizzes are a great way to assess learning, but students can also use the videos for note-taking skills. The videos provide students with a visually-pleasing tool to help with understanding and it doesn't hurt that most videos have a humorous aspect to keep their attention. I love using BrainPOP and I am so thankful that you have helped us have access for another year.”

Each year we do a small unit on nonfiction texts around the end of October. These texts include information about real places that are spooky and sometimes haunted. The students are so engaged in these interesting stories, they ask to read more. The Ghosts books that were in this project are another nonfiction text that I normally like to include. By getting a class set, the students were able to read along with me and read to each other. This increased the engagement even more, which also lead to better understanding. Thank you so much for helping to contribute to our class sets of novels.”

Thank you for your contribution for our classroom this year. We really needed the new pencil sharpener, those seem to go out every year. So, a sturdy one was needed. The collection of books are a fantastic addition to our classroom library. The growing series of interesting topics are a big hit and I love getting students more interested in ready. We have used the paper cutter a dozen times since we've gotten it, at least. The binding combs have been useful for a couple different projects that we have worked on. They help give a sturdier way of holding papers together for students so they are less likely to lose any. These materials have been so helpful in making our classroom better this year.”
Thank you so much for the generous donations. We are so excited for our new robots. I am getting ready to start a new after-school club called 'Girls Who Code'. They will get so much use and fun out of our expanded stem activities. I plan to let the girls in the club use the robots for coding practice each week after school. I will also be using the robots with my science classes during our unit on technology and engineering. Thank you again for including my class in your donations. I cannot wait to see what the students create!”

We have already gotten some great use out of our materials. The Swiffer mop has been a big help with helping to keep the classroom a little tidier. It has also made cleaning up a few of our messes much easier. I am so happy that we have plenty of refills to keep us going for the next few months. The new pillow brightens up the reading corner and it gets a lot of use when students choose their seating for class. Students have been using the pens for note-taking and for checking work. We thank you so much for your contributions towards making our classroom a better and cleaner place.”

Thank you so much for the donations! New book cases were absolutely necessary this year. As soon as I emptied the old shelves, that were leaning to one side, they started to come apart. The new shelves are so nice and very sturdy. The students have been busy checking out the books in my classroom library since it is the beginning of a new school year. The shelves are more open and hold a lot more books so I can continue to build my classroom library for the students. Thank you again for the generous donations and being a part of what makes my classroom a place that students like to be.”

Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, several of which are economically challenged. They are very caring and protective of their fellow classmates, especially those that have grown up through the years together.
