Art Supplies and Storage
Funded May 11, 2021My art students and I were very excited to receive these new items for the art room.
We use the Crayola Multicultural Crayons with colors from around the world the most!! So far we have used them to create our self-portraits and family portraits, which are staple art assignments with all students.
The paint markers we used to sign the school benches in the back and will be helpful moving forward for more art installations. The Akro-mils plastic storage is being used to store and organize perler beads by color. The shadow box was used to create a sign for the entrance of the classroom using melted crayons.
I attached some photos.
Thank you sooo much for these wonderful items, that we will continue to use in the art room!!”

Mobile TV Stand for Art Class
Funded Nov 3, 2020Thank you so much for the Mobile TV stand. I didn't realize how much I actually needed it. I use to have the tv on a bookcase that blocked so much of my whiteboard. Now that the tv is on the mobile stand, I have access to my entire white board!! The whiteboard now has more demonstration artworks, samples, and ideas for my young artists.
I use the tv and stand to share videos and close-ups of my demos. I can also move the tv around the front of the art room when I need it, or on the side when I am not using it. It's the best!! My art students saw it right away and liked the way it looked better.
Thank you so much again!!”

Art on a Cart!
Funded Aug 23, 2020Thank you so much! This is one Amazing Art Cart! I love seeing my students faces upon entering their classroom with this cart. It has been helpful on days where I teach art indoors due to weather and will be helpful teaching indoors during the winter months. This amazing cart has helped me maintain the quality and art experience my students deserve. It has also allowed me to get from class to class with ease! It rolls smoothly, and holds lots of materials in the drawers and I have used magnets to hold posters to display! I am happy with my research on this cart and I look forward to continue using it this school year.
Thank you so much!!”

Digitally Enhancing the Art Room
Funded Dec 18, 2019Thank you everyone! I cannot express how useful these iPads have been during the last few months now that we are more digital than ever. My art squad students got a chance to use the ipads to upload artwork to Artsonia back in January and March. Now, I use the iPads to record and edit my content videos using iMovie and other video apps. I also use the iPad to organize my Google classroom and respond to emails, comments, and Google Meet. It is very handy and having two of them helps with storage space when recording and editing multiples videos each week!!
Thank you again for all of your help!”

STEAMY Art Stools!
Funded Sep 3, 2018This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my visual arts classroom. The stools are being used daily by pre-k to 5th grade students. It is where students sit to create their artwork at the large tables in the art room. They make the room feel roomy, neat, and my students say that they are more comfortable to create art in. They simply slide under the table or can be placed on the table for floor cleaning. They are a perfect height for all age groups, even adults. Regular classroom chairs (there were none because it was a new room) would have been too bulky.
With the small budget allotted for visual arts at our school, without your help, my students would not have had comfortable seating in the art room. When I showed my students the new stools, they were excited and loved the style. A very different style than from their classroom. It is the perfect size for all of my classes and really ties the space together. I have gotten compliments from students, staff, and parents. It really makes the art room feel more like an art room.
Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in New York would go without. I plan to continue to use these stools for many years. Thank you soo very much!! This has been the greatest gift for the new and my very first art room!”

Creative Carpet Ride
Funded Aug 20, 2018This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my visual arts classroom. The carpet is being used daily for my meeting area by pre-k to 5th grade students. It is where students sit upon entering the art room, where we gather to share during an art critique, and where students get a chance to create in early finisher activities.
With the small budget allotted for visual arts at our school, without your help, my students would not have had a carpet which is a center piece in the art room. When I showed my students the new carpet, they were excited and loved the colors and shapes on it. It is the perfect size for all of my classes and really ties the space together. I have gotten compliments from students, staff, and parents. It really makes the art room feel more like an art room.
Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in New York would go without. I plan to continue to use this carpet for many years. Thank you soo very much!! This has been the greatest gift for the new and my very first art room!”

Laptop For Art Class
Funded Dec 4, 2017This is a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The laptop that you donated has helped my students and I everyday. We use it to keep track of the Artsonia website where I post up student artwork, to look up valuable art resources, and to watch videos and power points that I create.
My students and I will be able to use it even more next school year when I get my own art room instead of being "art on a cart." I will be able to connect it to my smart board and incorporate technology in my art lessons. It works perfectly when infusing STEAM. I think what is most exciting about having the laptop is that my students get to see that art can include technology and it becomes another resource that can help them learn a new concept, such as tutorial videos.
I am especially excited to find more ways that I can utilize the laptop in my art curriculum next school year! Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms would go without.”

iPad for Art Class
Funded Oct 27, 2016This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my visual arts class. The iPad is being used by students from pre-k to 5th grade for many art projects and to help run our Artsonia website. Whenever students need some inspiration for a project or need to know how to draw a specific object, they have been using the iPad. Additionally, I, along with many 5th grade students, use the iPad to take photos of student artwork to upload onto the Artsonia website, which allows parents and families to view and share their child's artwork. I also have all students, depending on the amount of time available; write artist statements for their artworks using the Artsonia app on the iPad. The iPad is such a great addition to my "Art on a Cart" art class.
With the small budget allotted for visual arts at our school, without your help, my students would not have had such a vital material in our visual arts "Cart". When I showed my students the new iPad, they were excited to have it improve our art experience.
Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in New York would go without. I plan to continue using these materials throughout the rest of the school year with more exciting projects. I have an upcoming unit on Color (Element of Art) and projects related to the upcoming holidays where these materials will be of great use.”

Color Printer for Elementary School Artists!
Funded Oct 3, 2016This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my visual arts class. The color printer, surge protector, and the label maker are being used in many of my class projects from pre-k to 5th grade and for organizing art materials. I have used many of these materials in multi-media projects. I have used the color printer to print color images of master artworks, as opposed to printing them in black and white. Students can truly see master artworks in their natural color. For example, I printed images of Frida Kahlo's self-portraits to use for my lesson on self-portraits with my 650+ students. I have also used the color printer to create visual aids to allow students to see step by step instructions for my art lessons. I have used the label maker to print large labels for each container of art materials. This allows students to easily identify where certain materials can be found and where to properly return them when finished using them. For example, I labeled the containers of Sharpie Markers, Erasers, Drawing Pencils, White Drawing Pencils, etc.
With the small budget allotted for visual arts at our school, without your help, my students would not have had these vital materials in our visual arts class. When I showed my students the new materials, they were excited to have them improve our art experience.
Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in New York would go without. I plan to continue using these materials throughout the rest of the school year with more exciting projects. Fantastic Artists Need Art Supplies
Funded Dec 30, 2015This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my visual arts class. The white drawing paper, construction paper, glue sticks, dry rack and art frames are being used in many of my class projects from pre-k to 5th grade. We have used the white drawing paper to draw amazing pictures on, explore mixing colors with paint, and to create collages. We have used the construction paper to paint on and to make different collages along with the glue sticks. The glue sticks have also been used to glue fabric squares to create a border for our Faith Ringgold Tar Beach artworks and to create our mixed-media New York collages. I have been able to use the dry rack to let my students artwork dry without getting ruined, especially when using paint, glue, and watercolors. Finally, I have been able to display their artworks neatly by using the art frames around the school.
With the small budget allotted for visual arts at our school, without your help, my students would not have had these vital materials in our visual arts class. When I showed my students the new materials, they were excited to begin exploring them in the class projects.
Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in New York would go without. I plan to continue using these materials throughout the rest of the school year with more exciting projects. I have an upcoming unit on Color (Element of Art), where these materials will be of great use for all the students I teach.”
