Strategy Books
Funded May 19, 2019My students and I would love to thank you so much for contributing to make this project successful. When we first got the package, I was more than happy to receive new resources to help me plan lessons that will make learning easy, fun, and possible. Having these books that teach you different strategies for reading and writing, it will allow me better differentiate my lessons for my English language learners and students with special needs.
As the school year was winding down, I used the books to help plan for the following school year. The strategy books written by Jennifer Serravallo helped me better plan my lessons for both reading and writing. Since I will be implementing Guided Reading in my classroom next year, the Guided Reading book allowed me to better understand the process of Guided Reading and what the reading behaviors are like during each level. Moving forward, I would like to continue to use these books to foster my knowledge of how to teach students to become independent readers and writers.
Once again, thank you so much for contributing to this project and making it happen for my students and I. Every donation is appreciated and I look forward to having more projects funded for these little learners.”

Funded Dec 17, 2018My students and I would love to thank you so much for contributing to make this project successful. When we first got the package, my students and I were more than happy to know that we have new resources to make learning easy, fun, and possible. Having the basic supplies that we need every day to make learning happen in the classroom, such as pencils, erasers, and glue sticks were a great help in making sure that we are always prepared to learn. There are more than enough pencils for both of my classes and my students are not afraid of not having a sharpened pencil when they need to write.
Since this is the second project that is funded, my students were very amazed as to seeing another box from donorschoose. They were curious to know what was inside the box when I told them about another fully funded project. As we opened the box, they were as happy as us and we all agreed that its the best present ever because we were running low on pencils and gluesticks and students were misplacing their erasers. This was the perfect timing have a freshly restocked basic supplies.
Moving forward, I would like to use the pens I received to grade student work. Therefore, they are not used to just one color on their work but having different colors will make displaying the work more vibrant in the classroom. Students are getting stickers as a positive reward for doing well on tests, assignments, and behavior. Also, the binders and folders help me organize my worksheets based on skills so that it is easier for me to find and make copies of when needed.
Once again, thank you so much for contributing to this project and making it happen once again for my students and I. Every donation is appreciated and we look forward to having more projects funded for these little learners.”

Funded Aug 17, 2018Thank you for donating and making this a successful project. The new resources I requested for this project really helped my students and I. I was able to organize my library with the wonderful storage bins. It was colorful and inviting for my students, therefore, they are picking from those baskets more often. This tells me that students are reading more as they enjoy visiting the classroom library. The behavior chart was used to store student PBIS tickets so they can see how well they are doing and other students. This encourages students who are lacking tickets to see how many they have and behave better to earn tickets.
When I first brought up the materials, students were curious as to what is inside. I looped with my homeroom as this project was initially created to help in that classroom. Since I was able to loop with them, I am glad my students were able to share the joy with me in receiving the materials. As the students saw a brand new sharpener, they were excited because they knew that we did not have a proper working sharpener that ended up breaking last year. My students were asked to sharpen their pencils at home but with a working sharpener, those that do not have a sharpener at home were able to have sharpened pencils during class.
Not only does the project benefit me, but it also benefits my colleagues. I requested a poster hanger to maximize the use of space. Being able to use the poster hanger to hang anchor charts on wall spaces that I cannot use really helps my students and I. Knowing this is a struggling in my room, I share this wonderful tool with my colleagues so they do not have to climb to hang chart up high on the walls and still make sure of their wall spaces, especially my colleagues that have little bulletin board space.
I appreciate all the donors that contributed to this project to make it happen. Thank you very much.”
