  • Loving Literacy in Kindergarten

    Funded Aug 1, 2024

Kindergarteners love to play and this project being funded helped me provide play opportunities for learning. Students have loved to play the games and most of them know all letters and sounds this year already. Your donations directly contributed to this benchmark.

We use our magnetic/dry erase boards each day. These allow us hands on opportunities to apply learning and demonstrate skills.the cvc chart helps us practice blending to combine sounds which formulate words. The smiles are evidence children are engaged and motivated to learn.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Price

  • Math Storage-Controlled Chaos in K

    Funded May 8, 2024

Your donation helped me begin the school year on the right foot. I was able to organize many of our supplies and easily locate the math manipulative that are required daily. This organization had saved me a tremendous amount of time preparing for our math lessons. I can easily see what is in the tub and find the items I need. The compartments helped us sort by shapes and colors.

I am humbled for support of generous donors like you who help keep the education ship afloat. We greatly appreciate the time saved by your donation.”

  • Kindergarten Student Tools

    Funded Jun 5, 2024

My students are thrilled to have the materials you so graciously donated. The Happy Birthday crowns have already been used and adored because we celebrated our first birthday of the school year already! Pete the Cat is a fave and everyone is looking forward to their birthdays. They were also thrilled to open their first can of Play-Doh to creatively build and explore.

The other items will be put to use soon! I have a larger class than normal and providing my students with engaging tools and incentives will be more challenging. Your gift helps motivate students to come to school every day and helps them feel a sense of belonging. I am humbled by your generosity.”

  • Snappy and Wire-free

    Funded Jan 22, 2024

My students are loving the new document camera. We can have a more seamless learning experience. Once the camera is connected, students can be engaged without having to wait for any small little bump and then for me to adjust the camera. This translates to deeper learning and more engagement.

We use this camera daily for math, literacy, and even art projects at time. Students help read texts and decode unfamiliar words. They also can see teacher modeled written examples in real time. They can follow along with assessments and see how I complete an activity. They help build words with magnetic letters and tiles. These are a small example of how this camera is used in my classroom. Extra bonus- students love the vibrant blue color and light.

Thanks for your generous support which directly impacts student learning in my classroom on a daily basis.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Price

  • New Year, New Learning Opportunities

    Funded Jan 4, 2024

Your support has helped students grow to new levels in my classroom. Students have all shown growth in their literacy skills, namely identifying letters and sounds with most students identifying all but one or two letters and sounds. They are learning high frequency words and gaining decoding skills which will impact their reading ability for life.

Students love all of the learning materials. The Alphabet Mystery box is an exciting and hands-on opportunity for letters and sounds practice. The magnetic tiles are always popular in my class. The bonus of the tiles having letters is wonderful. We use the tiles to identify letters and sounds and also to make words. The letter matching ice cream cones are versatile- from matching the letters and sounds, to stacking the scoops in order, to stacking the scoops to spell cvc words, the ice cream cones provide tons of engaging learning opportunities. The LCD writing tablets are a popular request at ALL times of the day. We use them currently to write lots of sentences and words. Students love these tools so much they even use them at recess times. I appreciate the support!”

    Mrs. Price

  • Print Colorfully in K

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

This new printer had been a lifesaver this year. We have been able to print last minute differentiated materials. We have also created and printed signage for student art displays. We have printed engaging seasonal centers.

Novelty encourages learning and these centers that are seasonal help increase motivation. As teachers they have saved us time by allowing us to print colorful labels.

I am grateful to receive support of donors who both know my students, but also from those who have matched donations. Thanks !”

  • Learn and Play in K!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

My students have loved, loved, loved these materials. Games really are the best way for kindergarteners to learn. The unicorns are one of their favorite games. They match letters (upper and lower) which is an emerging kindergarten skill. This also allows us to engage in conversation about letter sounds.

In addition to academic skills which can be developed through game play, my students are receiving important SEL training. They are having to work cooperatively with one another to achieve a common goal. They are taking turns and communicating.

We have opened a few other games and will continue to uncover them as it becomes appropriate. Students love to come work with teachers because they know they get to play a game. Thank you for helping my students learn through the medium that suits them best: play.”

  • Organizing a Reading Rainbow

    Funded Jul 31, 2023

These colorful bins are gorgeous, eye-catching, and heavy duty. They are large and sturdy and organize my library beautifully! I cannot say how pleased I am to have them. I will definitely add to my collection of these as well. My students love the materials and other teachers as well.

They are perfect for a classroom of 5 and 6 year olds for which color coded visuals in addition to letters and numbers help with increasing their independence. For example, I can say pick from the bin with 1 (and all numbers were in white bins before). Instead of just saying the number, because I have some students who would struggle, I can now say choose from the pink bin labeled 1 on the bottom shelf. Students can feel confident and independent and I will have more time with smaller groups that aren't simply me showing exactly where to choose a book from.

Not only that, but my library space is warm and inviting and the colorful bins motivate kindergarteners to love to read.”

  • Wobble While You Work

    Funded Apr 2, 2023

Thanks so much for donating to get Wobble Stools for my classroom. My students loved having the opportunity to move as they learn. often times our littlest learners need a chance to move while we push them to reach their goals. They provide an exciting seat choice when working with the teacher as well.

The Wobble stools create instant smiles. They help my busiest learners focus on the the task at hand. The stools are versatile and easy to move. They also love the vibrant color choices of purple, blue, green, and red.

Moving forward, students will continue to have the opportunity to use the stools to support their learning and may use them at their actual seat as well. Comfortable students learn best.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Price

My first grade students are busy little learners. We are looking for ways to help focus our brains during independent time. The idea of a personal office is exciting to my kiddos! My firsties also love to get up and move while they learn. We are always seeking novel ways to engage our littlest learners in our lessons.
