  • Pianos and Parachutes!

    Funded Sep 25, 2024

Well, Our pianos are a success. And every student will have their own piano for our lessons. YouTube videos will be used for guidance. And a whole new level of concentration will be required. These pianos will allow for an experience in music class that most students will not get in their personal lives. And hopefully with this exposure to beginner lessons, some will choose to further their piano skills in the future. Thank you to all the donors out there who care about the performing arts. We can't do it on our own. And you are much appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rone

  • Play Us a Song, You're the Piano Kids!

    Funded Dec 2, 2022

My students absolutely love the keyboards!

As learning of the music alphabet, staff, and piano keys progresses throughout the year, my students really needed a hands on experience. And because of generous donors like you, my students finally get that opportunity. They now get to use these keyboards in hand to see how the music alphabet, staff, and the piano keys align.

I have high hopes these keyboards just might spark an interest in some of my students to move forward with proper piano lessons and became and fine pianist!”

  • Music in Many Ways

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

Our grounding/earthing mats have been put to good use within our school's calming room. My school typically has a number of students who need the calming room periodically. But given our nations situation with the pandemic, an even larger number of students have been negatively impacted. The mental health of our students is very important to us and we feel so fortunate to have another resource in which to aid in bettering their school day experience. Thank you for caring about our students as we do. You are greatly appreciated.”

  • Kids Need the Earth's Energy to Reduce Stress

    Funded Sep 29, 2021

Our school's calming room is slowly getting furnished and the earthing/grounding mats you helped fund have been put to good use. Our special Education teachers use the room the most and they have asked me to tell the donors, "Thank you very much for your generous donation. Our student's mental health and well being is our first and foremost concern. And the earthing/grounding mats have given us one more resource to aid in our goal of a calm mind and body for any student who might need it."

    We appreciate you.”

  • SHHHH... It’s Storytime... No, It’s Music Time... It’s Both!

    Funded Aug 20, 2020

Let me start with a GIANT thank you for your donations. I love to see people supporting the arts. And to see my donations coming from people all over the country, makes my heart smile.

I have slowly been growing my music library over the years with the tiny budget I receive from my district. But I suddenly realized I could add to my library exponentially with the use of a project on Donors Choose. Of course, the fine supporters proved me right. And boy did my library grow! I had planned to use the books over remote teaching, but unfortunately that idea didn't quite work out due to audio/video limitations. But never fear! These books will be used in class after all of our students return to the classroom. And I can't wait!”

  • Bells Will Ring and Sticks Will Drum

    Funded Aug 28, 2019

The bells are amazing. Donors Choose was the only way I could attain these bells for my students. What makes these bells so special is, every year my students play music with boomwhackers and these bells are color coded exactly the same. The bells are also used by placing them on the floor. This will allow the bells to have a "longer" and "healthier" life. In other words, the bells will not wear and tear so easily in the hands of elementary students. Although we have not reached the particular lessons that will use the boomwhackers and bells, the students caught site of the bells and can not wait.”

  • The Gift of Sound

    Funded May 6, 2019

This donation of the wireless microphones is a wonderful thing. Our four working microphones slowly became one partially working microphone. Of course microphones are used for our performing arts programs. But that's not all. Our school uses microphones on a daily basis with and for all of the students. We use the microphones for many other things like special guest presenters, class presentations, rise and shine assemblies, and regular P.E. classes. I would like to thank those who supported this project.”

  • Can You Hear Me Now? Good!

    Funded May 12, 2018

This project is more than appreciated. The wireless microphone is staple to the performing arts. Performing musical programs with only a hand held microphone isn't easy. This microphone is just one step closer to building the performing arts program my inner city students deserve. Another appreciation for this microphone is from me personally. I had vocal cord surgery a few years back and I have to work hard at preserving my voice. With this microphone I can teach effectively without damaging my vocal chords. I am blessed beyond belief!”

  • Lights! Camera! Action!

    Funded May 10, 2018

What a blessing. Our new stage backdrop is going to be amazing! We have no stage in our school so we have to do all of our performances in the gym. We have a 1 foot tall platform, and a painted cinder block wall. And trying to decorate a painted cinder block wall is nearly impossible when nothing holds on it. But now, thanks to our donors, we have a beautiful black sequins curtain for our backdrop. The students are so excited and our performances, videos, and pictures will look "official" !!!

  • Hands Free Entertainment!!!

    Funded Sep 26, 2016

Our Hands free entertainment project will serve our school in a huge way because our stage was completely torn out of the school due to remodeling. I am in my second year at this school. Therefore, I am starting from scratch. I'm hoping to get more equipment in the future to help create a make shift stage and build an awesome performing arts program.

With your donations, we now have the ability for hands free presentations, shows, and assemblies in a way we weren't able in the past. The wireless headsets will greatly benefit our annual talent show. Acts like karate demonstrations and magicians can now be performed to their fullest potential. And the Microphone stands and microphone clips are going to benefit our school's choir concerts, plays, & musicals. Now we won't have to place the microphone on the floor when it's not being used.

Again, thank you so very much for you generosity. We are so grateful. Wish us luck!”

This wireless microphone will allow my students to perform to their fullest potential! It will be used for talent shows, holiday programs, and demonstrations. As you can imagine, talent shows can cover an array of performing ideas. And for some performances, a handheld microphone just won't work. For example, magic, science demonstrations, karate demonstrations, cheerleading acts, etc. Musical theater is another performing art that has a necessity for wireless microphones. Singing, acting, and dancing don't allow for a handheld microphone. And finally, as a teacher, I can use the microphone for instructional purposes when rehearsing or teaching in a large venue.
