  • Classroom Carpet for Learning!

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

We have been using our classroom carpet throughout the day for all subjects. In our classroom we have 2 carpets for parallel teaching. One carpet is in the front of the classroom and the other on the other side for both myself and my co-teacher. It is very important to have a comfortable and spacious place for students to sit and learn. This has provided our students with a warm and cozy learning environment, which they enjoy.

I want to thank you again for making this happen for myself and students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Roman

  • Answer Board Station

    Funded Jan 19, 2024

Our answer boards centers have been put to use religiously this year. Our students have used them during all subjects math, writing, and even engaged in some fun games. They have loved worked together and teaming up using the boards. This has been a tremendous contribution to our classroom. Having two sets has provided us the opportunity to use them during our parallel teaching for both myself and my co-teacher.

Our students have used them to responded to questions and to answer story problems. We took very good care of them and will be using them next year.”

    With gratitude,

  • Colorful Printer!!

    Funded Jan 19, 2024

Our classroom printer did not stop working this past school year. We used it everyday to print out many different things. We used it to create small group center based activities as well as charts, classroom posters, vocabulary cards, etc. This has been one of the most impactful DonorsChoose project that my classroom has received.

Myself as well as my co-teacher and students would like to thank you for bringing this project to life for our community.

Not only are we always using this printer and ink daily but thanks to your generosity we are also able to share with other teachers in our grade level.”

    With gratitude,

  • Essential Classroom Needs

    Funded Dec 23, 2022

In the middle of the school year it is usually the time to replenish the supplies that we have like ink, tissues and cleaning supplies. These materials arrived to us at the perfect timing. During the cold weather their is a higher need for tissues and for extra cleaning supplies.

The ink is being used to print and make activities for the classroom, such as engaging centers for math and guided reading centers. My students also engage in cleaning their learning space, which consists of wiping down their tables, which involves everyone at their table. They all love to make sure that everything is in its place and everything is clean. After the past few years it is important to disinfect and keep everything clean so that viruses and germs are not spreading and getting others sick.

Thank you for your support to my classroom and my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Roman

  • Reading! Reading! Reading!

    Funded Dec 19, 2022

When students received the package they were very excited. They were very happy after we opened our new materials and were really excited to put them to use.

Some of these materials we had to wait to use them because of curriculum and when students were learning about the topic. For instance with the writing center, students were working on writing their capital letters in end of January and February.

Students have using the decodable books to read in the classroom and outside of the classroom. They have been taking some of these home to use, especially my struggling readers.

These materials have made a huge impact for all my students whether they are used during guided reading or independent reading time.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Roman

  • Back to School Supplies!

    Funded Jul 31, 2022

These materials were received in the beginning of the school year and have helped my students and their families.

Materials like notebooks, book baggies help our students with learning at home. Students use their book baggies daily as they engage in reading activities at home. Other materials like bulletin board paper are used around the classroom to put student work up around the classroom. Other materials like dry erase markers and water color paint are great ways to encourage and express our students creativity!

We are very grateful for the materials which you have provided for us!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Roman

Every month we have a different unit of study, which consists of me and the assistant teacher transforming our classroom into the unit which we are covering. Our classroom consists of play-based-learning, and the students being able to choose which area/center they would like to go to. Having a variety of age appropriate level books would bring our library and classroom to life.Giving our students the opportunity to read a variety of books that engages them and that they could learn from. Our classroom focuses on showing our students that reading is fundamental and enjoyable. We want our library to represent the students and units that we will be covering. We want our students to grow academically and foster a love for reading. "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go.: -Dr. Seuss, "I can read with My Eyes Shut!"
