My students are longing for a loveable library to immerse themselves in literature! As they begin September as third-graders, this year is especially important because they will face challenges with transitioning into reading upper-grade texts. In order to support my students as much as possible, they require a library that is not only functional but also inviting. There is a direct correlation between a strong literary foundation and educational success. For my students to develop this foundation and establish a successful academic career, we are in desperate need of a strong classroom library. It is for this reason that this project requires a bookshelf, sturdy book bins, and flexible seating options such as the bean bag chair and soft pillows. The shelves and bins are necessary for the library to function at its most fundamental level. However, in order to truly foster a love and passion for literacy, having flexible seat options will give my students the opportunities to "curl up with a good book."
