Headphones or Bust!
Funded Jul 17, 2019I would like to thank you for the headphones your donation provided for my class. The students are over the moon happy about having them. They are so happy in fact they protect them as if they are delicate property!
In classrooms, today technology is a major component of instruction. Being able to successfully use the technology really depends on having the proper accessories. Before the gift of our headphones the students would use computers and iPads to navigate all the programs we are required to use without headphones and it was crazy loud. The students could not concentrate and I could not concentrate when helping them, we were all struggling. It was not a good situation. Most of my students have varying disabilities and they need a quiet classroom to complete their best work. Since receiving the headphones and placing them in the classroom our reading program scores have increased and the student's confidence has soared! They are now excited to work with technology and have a new attitude.
Once again thank you so much for the donation towards the headphones. They have made a huge difference in our class. Your kindness and generosity is a blessing to our class.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Redmond

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for donating to my project! Your donation has allowed my students with special needs to finally become apart of the technology world. They love the iPad center I have created because as they tell me; "iPads rock!", they are learning so much. Their engagement level has also increased ten-fold. It is amazing what an iPad will do for the spirits of a struggling student.
Once I received the iPads, I immediately began researching for the best educational apps I could find. They have really enjoyed using a reading app called "Epic". That one app has gotten most reluctant readers involved in reading and mostly enjoying it. Teaching students to enjoy reading is my passion and I am determined to use the iPads I received from your donation to make that happen.
I want to tell you the story of one of my students. He is a first-grade student with many learning challenges, and reading is not his favorite activity to join in. Since the iPads have arrived as a center in the classroom he has listened and read over five books! This is amazing progress for this little guy. I know with each day that passes he is becoming more and more passionate about books and what worlds they can open for him.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Redmond
