  • Help with Technology!

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you so much for helping my students obtain headphones and mouses to use with their chromebooks. Technology is not largely integrated into our world, and likewise into education.

Unfortunately, public school funding doesn't always coincide with the needs that the use of technology brings. I am grateful for donors like you that allow us to meet the needs of students.

Students are now able to use I-ready, IXL, Schoology and other learning platforms and more comfortably move the curser with the mouse and listen to directions or narrations with the earphones. Thank you so much, and may your generosity return doubled to you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Orijel

  • Winning at Writing

    Funded Oct 20, 2023

Happy New Year! Thank you so much for helping my class evolve into better writers. They have been using the materials to write, peer edit and work on their craft.

They have become proud of their work and it shows when I print out their final drafts and hang them up on our bulletin boards. I an proud of the improvements I have seen in each of them whether great or small, and I will continue to enjoy seeing their evolution throughout the end of the school year. Thank you for being a part of that. We appreciate your kindness!”

  • Hands on Math Centers

    Funded Sep 2, 2022

Your donation could not have had better timing! As a school we are focusing on helping students in small groups, due to the small size of my class I can't fit more tables to pull out students and help them in small groups of 3-4 students. Instead, I pull them to our rug area. Students use to moan about having to sit on the floor and I don't blame them it was uncomfortable.

Now with our chairs, students look forward to small groups! The seats are comfortable and easy to move and put away when we are not using them. The math kit has really helped during our small group time because it provides a concrete visual for multiplying and dividing. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Home Library

    Funded Jun 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous contribution that has allowed my students to cultivate literacy beyond the classroom. Every week my students now have the opportunity go select books from our class library that is solely for take home books.

Not all students in my class have access to books at home, or library. I assign daily reading as homework to promote improvement and interest in literacy. These books have made it easy for my students to complete that task. My students look forward to the day they can check out a new book. Thank you so much.”

  • Focused Writers

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

My students are so grateful that we have these new partitions! We had really old ones before that were about 10 years old, the tape would come off and they were scribbled on, all in all, they were a mess. Students deserve to have nice things and they were excited when I passed out the blue partitions! We went over how to care for them and respect the class property and they have been so respectful and taking care of them. They were used during the second semester to help them focus on their writing as they wrote narratives on adventures they'd been on, as well as opinion writing on homework. Lastly, they were very handy during our state testing. They helped keep students focused and free from distraction.”

  • Healthy Learners Learn Best

    Funded Apr 28, 2022

Your donation could not have come at a better time. The end of the year can be very stressful for students and teachers alike. Students are heavily tested and their energy starts to run low. The snacks helped student energy and morale rise during the last few weeks of school. The water was used during a field trip to the park, which helped so much since not all students bring water bottles of their own and I didn't want them using the park water fountains because of concerns with covid. The cleaning supplies helped keep our class clean and sanitized. Students live out self care corner, it makes them feel special and cared for, and I am so grateful I am able to do this for them with your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Orijel

  • Playing, Reading, Learning!

    Funded Jan 1, 2022

Your donation has been such a great help to my class. So far, with the gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers I have bought a unit on notable women for Women's History Month. I was so happy to see my students learn about women who have been determined, courageous and inspirational from different backgrounds. I have also bought a unit for Spanish speakers who are new to the country and need to learn basic conversational English. I have a new student from Columbia who is so bright and eager to learn, but I had no resources for him. This is when a website like Teachers Pay Teachers come in so handy. These resources are created by teachers with all of the needed resources to accompany our lessons. Those are just two of the many purchases I have made, and I have so many plans to use the rest of the gift cards. Thank you so much for your donation, it allows me to provide these extra beneficial activists and resources without breaking my bank! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Orijel

My students are energetic, kind and inquisitive. They keep me on my toes with their many questions. They love math, and I am hoping to promote that same feeling for reading and writing. My school is a heterogeneous mix of different cultures, and we teach our students to be very respectful of those differences. It is a low poverty school, and many students do not own books of their own, and rely on public or school libraries to access books to read at home. Teachers at my school work very hard to fundraise to make up for our lack of school budget, but we still fall short and end up paying from our pockets.
