Merry Printing!
Funded Feb 8, 2023Thank you for helping obtain a classroom printer that facilitates on-the-spot distribution of educational materials, enabling timely access to handouts, assignments, and resources.
This immediacy supports active engagement and keeps students engaged, organized and fosters a conducive learning environment. Students are most excited about having a classroom printer because it means receiving materials promptly, having access to well printed resource, and experiencing a dynamic, interactive learning environment that adapts quickly to their educational needs.
My history and world geography students most appreciate our printer because we can instantaneously print maps, historical documents, and visual aids. It allows me as the instructor to create engaging materials which aids in interactive and immersive learning experience for students.”

Funded Jun 15, 2022Thanks you so much for giving us the tools we needed to start our year off right. It is such a relief to start the year off with the essentials and even better when you have a few things you want. We have been able to use the materials from this project to thoroughly organize, decorate and facilitate our learning environment.
We use markers, pens, pencils daily for work and stations. The rest of the materials such as the ambience light contributes to our classroom's ambience. It's always a vibe.
We are gracious for your continuous generosity to our class. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Funded Sep 26, 2022In the digital age of technology that we live in, it is critical to keep students engaged in ways that they are familiar. There are so many career paths that currently and will utilize technology once students leave high school if they aren't already doing so.
Having a camera to utilize in class and in our school has made it easier for our student to capture and archive those memorable moments. We have had so many candid pictures throughout our school day, at our special events such as: Homecoming Week and the dances. The students lead the way when it comes to creativity and they have done a phenomenal job.
I have one particular student who has taken an extra special interest with the equipment and as a result, he was appointed as our Junior Archive. He has shown himself to be very responsible with the equipment and he is always ready whenever there is n event. I am very pleased with his work and his work ethic.
We are very gracious for our donors for giving us the opportunity to enhance our learning environment.”

Funded Nov 17, 2021As a World History teacher it is important to me to illustrate exactly how big and diverse the world is, thus I came up with the idea for "Wanderlust World History" which simply means the desire to travel in World History. Many of the materials that I chose allowed me to create a space in my classroom for students to "wander". For example, instead of being confined to a desk and traditional learning all day, there were flexible areas where students could go and complete their assigned classwork.
As a result, students were very comfortable, we had an amazing classroom culture and students preformed better academically and behaviorally. One of the things the students looked forward to was playing games with their peers after they completed work. This was great to observe as an educator because many high school students are anxious to use technology all the time.
Lastly, although extrinsic rewards are not often used in the classroom having them to motivate students has been a great asset. Although students are expected to produce quality work they sometimes should be rewarded for it as well. Thus, this project really served us in the 2021-2022 school year thanks to all who contributed.”

Funded Jul 20, 2021As an educator it is absolutely necessary to be flexible and to continue learning whether it is content or new technology. After returning to the "normal" classroom, the pandemic year taught us many ways we can improve and streamline many of our daily activities in the classroom. For me, I don't know where I would be without technology in my classroom.
Having an iPad has made it so much easier for my mobility in and out of the classroom. While I'm in class I use it to take attendance, do my lesson plans, respond to emails that may require me to fill out paperwork, work on my lesson presentations and simultaneously present a lesson and take notes. It has also caused me to be environmentally friendly since I don't have the need to use much paper. It also aids me in filing paperless as well. For the students we are able to work collaboratively in real time with the iPad in front of us and I'm able to also grade in real time and give students their averages much more quickly.
As a class, we utilize the iPad so much it has inspired many student to acquire their own iPads and continue many of the processes that I implemented as a result of "Operation Flexibility. Words are not enough to express my gratitude for making my classroom a tech savvy haven.”

Funded Mar 10, 2021The "7 Wonders of World History" project was created during the pandemic school year in preparation for our transition back to normalcy. The isolation and extra time that I had during the pandemic year caused me to adopt new hobbies such as crafting. Thus, when my project got fully funded I was super excited to start crafting and prepping my classroom décor and activities for the upcoming school year.
As a result of my project getting funded, at the start of the new school year I had everything prepped and ready before the students returned. On Meet the Teacher night, I could really sense the impression from students and parents for all of the diligent work I had put in; that moment really let me know that I was going to have a great school year. Days later when the students returned to school in person there was much joy and excitement for them and I could really tell that they appreciated my efforts to facilitate a fun and engaging classroom setting for them.
Throughout the year, we were able to work on many project based assignments with ease. One of my favorite was at the beginning of the year when we did our poster projects on Early Civilizations. We were also able to complete many college preparation and community awareness activities where we could pay it forward for the generosity that was extended to us.”
