Organization to Aid 8-Year -Olds!
Funded Aug 22, 2018Prior to receiving these seat pockets, my students' desks were completely disorganized. Organizing lots of folders, notebooks, and school supplies is tough for eight year olds, especially those with executive functioning or occupational therapy challenges. My students were missing valuable instructional time and would lose work that they had put a lot of time and effort into. However, with the addition of these seat pockets, organization is so much easier for my little ones! They now have a clear system for where all of their school supplies go, and we waste a lot less time and have a way fewer papers lost! Not to mention I get so many positive comments from other staff and students about how clean and bright the seat pockets make our classroom look. Thank you so much for helping out my students!”

Funded Oct 5, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students are all EXTREMELY curious, so they couldn't wait to get into all of the materials! Just simply opening the box was exciting for them. All of the materials have been a big hit and several of the students request to use them, even during their free time! The letter launch game has been the biggest hit, and has turned into a great game that we can play in small groups. It's helping my students work on letter identification as well as phonemic awareness. Eventually, my hope is that the students will be able to play this game without any adult supervision. Playing games can be a big challenge for students with autism because games aren't always very structured. This has been a great way to introduce games to my kids in a fun and academic way!”

Help Students with Autism Learn to Read in Their Own Way!
Funded Mar 22, 2014This reading program is just as fantastic as I anticipated it would be! I have several of my students utilizing various aspects of the program. It provides a revolutionary way of teaching reading to my students with autism, in a successful way that I haven't seen before. I have students who previously couldn't read any words, now reading several words and actually understanding what they are reading! As a result of using this program, my students are now more eager to read and have a much greater attention span during reading time. I cannot wait to continue to use this program for years to come. Thank you a thousand times over for your generosity and investment in these special children's lives. We appreciate you so much!”

Make Math Make Sense For Students With Autism!
Funded Mar 15, 2014Thank you so incredibly much for your generous contributions!!
My students have already fallen in love with these math games and resources! Not only are these resources allowing my kids to work on valuable math skills, but they are also teaching my students how to communicate and work with each other. Children with autism don't always know how to work as a team, and these games are helping my students improve their teamwork skills.
As far as math goes, these resources are already being utilized by ALL of my students! The materials allow my most advanced learners to practice making correct change, and allow my earliest learners to work on number recognition and simple addition.
I recently learned that one of my students dreams of working at Burger King one day. He wants to be a cashier so he can interact with customers, be around all the food, and have a great job. I told him that he needs to be able to quickly make change, and he also needs to be able to tell time, so that he can get to work on time, understand the timing of the food, amongst other things. Once I told him this, he became so excited to improve his money sense and time skills, and these resources are PERFECT for him!
These resources will be utilized by so many students for YEARS, and it's all thanks to you! Our class appreciates you more than you can ever know.”

Funded Jul 31, 2013Now that we're well into our school year, it's obvious what an impact these materials are having! My students utilize the letters every single day and I can see a vast improvement with their spelling and reading because of it! Having concrete materials that my boys can manipulate really helps them understand language and words better and it's clearly helping reduce the frustration many of them have dealt with when it comes to words. I am also seeing their critical thinking improve because of the sequencing cards! The cards are appropriately challenging while also very engaging. The letter beads are also a hit! My kids think they are playing when really they are building their vocabularies :)
These are materials that will be utilized by ALL of my future classes, so while the materials are currently helping the six superstars in my class right now, please know they will be helping several more students in the future as well! You are truly the greatest friends and family I could ask for. Thank you for your continued support of me, my students, and students with autism everywhere! You are all heroes!”

Give Students with Autism the Ability to Communicate!
Funded Feb 12, 2013I can't begin to tell you how much my students are benefiting from the materials you purchased for them! I have students who haven been struggling to read all year long, who, since reading the Sight Word Readers, have started to actually read! I even had a parent come in and tell me she had no idea what her son was capable of until now.
The Question of the Day cards have become a part of our everyday routine, and are sparking fantastic conversations between students who prior to using these materials, weren't sure where to start when it came to conversation. They are also helping me to find out so much more information about my students, because they are able to point to easy-to-understand visuals rather than use words, which they may or may not have.
The letter tiles have also been a big hit during our vocabulary stations. Students will take one of their weekly vocabulary words, read it, build it with the letter tiles, then practice writing it. The letter tiles allow the students to actually feel the letters, which is so important since my students are very kinesthetic learners.
All in all, these materials are making an impact on my students every single day, and I will never be able to thank you all enough!”
