I Dream of Painting and Then I Paint My Dream.
Funded Dec 20, 2017I cannot thank you enough for your wonderful contribution. My students will be so happy and so excited when I tell them tomorrow that we are finally getting paint! We've been waiting patiently all year. Color theory is my favorite thing to teach and I cannot wait to share the experience of mixing and creating colors with my little artists. Thank you so much!”

Messy Artists!
Funded Sep 18, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! My students and I greatly appreciate it. Since we received our materials we have been busy creating art. The heavy weight paper allows us to create larger projects and it is much sturdier than regular old copy paper. Our smocks make sure our clothes do not get paint all over them and the drying rack gives us a place to dry our paintings.
In the images you see the first project my second graders did with these new materials. We created a pattern landscape on a scratchboard. First my students took the paper and filled in big blocks of color with different colored crayons. We then used black paint to paint over our colorful designs. While our paintings were drying, we learned about landscapes and patterns. Once the paintings were dry we used toothpicks to scratch our landscape designs into our paper. Scratching the paint away was so much fun, and the kids loved seeing their colors appear! It was like magic!
We are already busy working on our next project. For this project we are traveling to India and learning about their culture and henna. We watched videos about life in India, and learned all about Henna so far. We will be creating our own henna hands on paper and adding a colorful background to the project. We have been busy practicing our henna designs and will start our final copies after winter break!
Once again, thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom and to my students.”
