My students are all from under-served populations with 100% of them receiving free or reduced lunch. They are all very smart and eager with a thirst for knowledge, which I plan to foster through my own love of reading. My school has a wonderful staff but limited resources. There is a severe lack of technology, which my students will need to enhance their learning. Currently my classroom, along with many others, does not have any technology. I have only chalkboard and whiteboards with little means of integrating technology into my lessons. The school itself is an older school but is slated for many improvements over the next few years. However, increasing our students' access to technology and varied texts has been an area that has received only minimal attention with funding for class libraries being extremely limited.
