Entering Year 10!
Funded Aug 18, 2024Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Every year, I start the year with a DonorsChoose project for classroom basics. The resources, including Lysol wipes, card stock paper, pencils, and other back-to-school essentials, have are integral to our classroom. Although these items seem simple, they go a long way and make a huge impact!
Lysol wipes ensure our learning environment stays clean and germ-free, promoting a healthy space where students feel safe to engage. The cardstock paper has been perfect for creative projects like posters, flashcards, and visual aids, while the pencils are being used daily for writing and drawing. These supplies have made lessons more interactive and organized, helping students stay focused and enthusiastic about their work. The back-to-school essentials have also helped foster a sense of community, as students share materials and collaborate on group activities! With these resources, we are building a foundation of creativity, collaboration, and responsibility that will carry us through the school year! Thank you sososo much again, I am so grateful!”

T.V. Monitor for More Access!
Funded Oct 11, 2023When you start at a new school it takes a while to get settled and feel like your classroom is your space. You also never know what you're going to get when it comes to classroom space. Therefore, the DonorsChoose community has had a tremendous impact on making my classroom feel like my own. The TV monitor is the perfect addition to my classroom. It ensures that all students can see a board regardless of their seat. I feel like the TV monitor also shows that my space is for everyone - I don't want anyone to feel like they cannot access the material because of their seat and the design of my classroom. Thank you so much DonorsChoose family for helping me yet again! I am so beyond grateful!”

Funded Mar 15, 2023Although this project did not go as planned due to resources being out of stock, I was able to fulfill a major need in my classroom. I was able to purchase organizing tools, a roller cart, drawers and bins, to help organize my space and keep things in their place. I cannot even begin to describe how helpful this is for every day functions and accessibility of items/materials. I am so grateful for the amazing Donors Choose community for the continued support and generous contributions to my classroom and students. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

New School, New Classroom
Funded Sep 6, 2022This year, my eighth year teaching, I started at a new school for the first time. I was nervous, a bit intimidated yet super excited to begin this new chapter. After entering the new building to begin set up, I knew instantly I had to turn to my extremely generous and reliable DonorsChoose community to help create my new space. This project allowed me to organize my new space with a new filing cabinet, purchase new science materials via Teachers Pay Teachers and use a step stool to utilize all spaces in my new classroom. The most fun addition has been the Celestial Buddies Sun because our school mascot is a Sun. This Sun has become "the son" to my advisory, so cute! THANK YOU X100000, the DonorsChoose community amazes me each and every project.”

Funded Sep 2, 2021I am so grateful to be apart of the DonorsChoose community. Project after project, I am amazed at the continuous support and generosity of individuals near and far! This school year has been extremely exhausting physically, mentally and emotionally. Therefore, having the ability to purchase curricular materials from Teachers Pay Teachers (while supporting other teachers) has been a game changer. I am teaching living environment for the first time this year and it has been SO extremely helpful utilizing Teachers Pay Teachers for supplemental materials and to generate ideas. Creating a Warm Environment

However, with the continued support of the Donors Choose community I can ensure that the students in my classroom(s) feel safe, welcomed and encouraged to be themselves. In order to smoothly transition back into the school building it is important to create a space where students feel comfortable. After all, they have been learning in the PJs from their beds the past year and a half! Teachers Supporting Teachers!
Funded Jan 31, 2021Thank you so much for the continued support, I can always rely on the extremely generous DonorsChoose community and I am so grateful! Through this project, I received a $100 to Teachers Pay Teachers. So not only did you help me but I then paid it forward to help other teachers as well. With this gift card I have been able to purchase supplemental materials to my curriculum and save my planning time!
As you know, this year has been extremely challenging on so many levels. One of my biggest challenges this year is PLANNING! I have been tasked with teaching THREE different science curriculums this year so that means three different lesson plans each day. Therefore, having access to Teachers Pay Teachers has been very helpful and I am so appreciative of the other teachers hard work and the continued support of DonorsChoose.

Funded Oct 12, 2020As always, I am blown away by the generous support of the DonorsChoose community. This iPad has been LIFE CHANGING in my teaching practice, ESPECIALLY since going back to remote-learning. I am not quite sure what I did without it! This new iPad allows me to work on multiple screens- taking attendance, managing my PearDeck presentations, being logged into two meetings at once (or let's be real, sometimes more), utilizing the Apple Pencil to draw demonstrations and models, and more. There are endless possibilities using an iPad to help facilitate online instruction and in-person instruction. I am so happy with this project and I highly recommend teachers to create a DonorsChoose project to get an iPad if they do not already have one!!!”

Funded Sep 29, 2020Teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic has been an absolute whirlwind. Working in a Title I school, our initial number one priority was ensuring students had access to internet and devices-- something some students are still struggling with 9 months later. Additional supplies would be absolutely wonderful but our school was/is very focused on the basics-- technology access. Therefore, it is CRAZY that with the support of the DonorsChoose community and the power of Eva Chen's social media influence-- I was able to provide kids with additional resources to make remote/hybrid learning more comfortable. I am always blown away by the support and generosity of strangers but during these unprecedented times, it really brought me to tears! The kind messages and words of gratitude go such a long way and I am so grateful. I wish you could have seen the look in my students eyes (because they were wearing masks of course) when they got their own personalized box of supplies. It was such a highlight of the time we spent in person together. Thank you SO much for supporting teachers, thank you so much for supporting students though this difficult time. WE ARE RESILIENT AND WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS!”

Funded Apr 18, 2020As always, I am AMAZED by the generous support of the DonorsChoose community and those of you who are willing to contribute to help educators. Now more than ever, students need our support and it would not be possible without your help! This was one of the most amazing experiences I have had as an educator. I was able to package and mail 80 care packages for my students this Spring while they were remote learning for the first time. An integral part of the package was HEADPHONES! These headphones allowed students to learn free of distractions, plug in and get to work! THANK YOU SO MUCH!”
