My students are a wonderful group of kids. The only thing holding them back is the economic disadvantage many of their families face. There have been several factories close in the region and unemployment remains high. My students are mostly minorities with an increasing number of Hispanic children for whom English is a second language. Our school can be better. It has been considered the least desirable of all the schools in the region. Our resources are still slim with many of our teachers paying out of pocket for everyday items for their students. Several of my students say they have never even been inside the local Wal-Mart. Thank you for taking a look at our projects.
