I teach 5th grade at a charter school in Pennsylvania where the population is high poverty. My school does not provide any materials or resources for the teachers at my school, and I am required to have these books for our 120 minute literacy block. This is my first year teaching 5th grade so all the materials I needed, I have had to purchase or create to meet the needs of all students. I am sad that, as of right now, I cannot afford to buy my students these books that they really need to be successful.
