My students have been using the Time for Kids and Storyworks magazines. They love them. It is a joy to see them interact with one another using reading and writing strategies.
Our school lacks the funding resources to provide students with these resources. It is with much gratitude that we thank you for funding our project and making these vital resources available.
The students' eyes light up when they see the vivid pictures and read the magnificent articles. Many students have not been exposed to travel or cultural diversity. The kid friendly resources covers that deficit. Thanks to Starbucks, youngsters in my class are certainly getting positive exposure and being positively impacted!”

My high school reading students are majority African American and Hispanic females and males. Several students are English Language Learners (ELL), Exceptional Education students (SPeD) or receiving intensive instruction in reading and math. Several have been retained previously or because they have not achieved a passing score on the Florida State Achievement Test (FSA). This is a South Florida Title 1 school. The majority of students are receiving free or reduced lunch. A large percentage of the students live at or below the poverty level. Surprisingly, several of my students do not know their Dads, or one of their parents are deceased or incarcerated. Despite the odds, they are eager to learn and be successful. Please consider helping my students in the critical area of reading and language arts. They are in need of the simplest school supplies.
