  • Heat Protecting Visors and Thirst Quenching Water Bottles

    The heat protecting visors and the Gatorade thirst quenching water bottles are awesome. The Elite cheer team definitely needed both. The visors color actually represents the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes. They have created a positive vibe in the school and during the Pep Rallies.

    In South Florida the weather can get extremely hot...that's where the water bottles really come in handy. Thanks for supporting our project. We are definitely making good use of the items that were purchased.”

  • Seeing the Need and Fueling It!

    The words we would like to convey are gratitude and appreciation. We really needed a printer for our classroom. Thanks for supporting or need. Many students will use the printer to complete projects, resumes and the like.

    The composition notebooks were needed

    too. Students are able to keep a reading log and quick writes assignments.These remedial high school students loved seeing the boxes being delivered. They were so proud and thankful. Again thanks for fueling/funding our project. These items motivate and meet several needs!”

  • Crocs & Jibitz for Cheer Jocks

    The cheer team is in an uproar. The have started a trend in the school and among students.

    It seems that almost everyone wants crocs and the jibitz. The morale is so positive. Thanks for supporting our project. Our first period grades are coming out soon. We are excited and have worked hard.

    Our football team is doing ok. They even commented on how nice we look.

My high school reading students are majority African American and Hispanic females and males. Several students are English Language Learners (ELL), Exceptional Education students (SPeD) or receiving intensive instruction in reading and math. Several have been retained previously or because they have not achieved a passing score on the Florida State Achievement Test (FSA). This is a South Florida Title 1 school. The majority of students are receiving free or reduced lunch. A large percentage of the students live at or below the poverty level. Surprisingly, several of my students do not know their Dads, or one of their parents are deceased or incarcerated. Despite the odds, they are eager to learn and be successful. Please consider helping my students in the critical area of reading and language arts. They are in need of the simplest school supplies.
