  • Little Voices Working to Be Heard

    Funded Jan 9, 2025

Thank you so much for fully funding the new set of articulation cards! I love the Bjorem Speech card sets, they students have so much fun with them! These cards are an integral part of Speech and Articulation drills that are used on a daily basis. My students love playing matching games and drilling with the bright colorful cards that directly target each sound is required. These cards are also amazing because they are so inclusive and representative of all students. They will be used for years to help even the smallest voices learn to speak up and be heard.”

    With gratitude,

  • Little Sensory Seekers

    Funded Jan 10, 2025

Thank you so much for fully funding our new sensory toys! My students were so excited to see all the new fidgets and sensory items available for them to use. Children learn using all of their senses. Sensory materials, like squishy mats and textured pads, make great therapeutic tools to address speech and language development while the child explores and plays. Sensory materials such as a light-up table are hands-on tools for children to explore their world through their senses. They also help improve the child's attention and facilitate joint attention.”

    With gratitude,

  • STITCHing My Room Together

    Funded Dec 19, 2024

Thank you so much for fully funding this project! My students and I LOVE the Lilo and Stitch movies. I am glad that I can decorate my room as a safe and fun environment for my students to learn in! The new rug has done wonders for my room and made the cozy corner even more comfortable. Now the students can play safely of the floor. Themed classrooms bring happiness, motivation and excitement to not only the students but also the teacher! These Lilo and Stitch decorations created the perfect Lilo and Stitch speech luau room!”

  • Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you SO much! MY students LOVED this project! They were so excited to make a snowman with "snow" from the North Pole! They worked on sequencing, following directions, and retelling steps. I read a "There Was A Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow" with this activity and the students had the best time! They could not wait to come back and see how the "magic" of the North Pole dried their snowmen. They were so excited to take them home to show their parents! They were able to reenact how to build a snowman, step-by-step. Then, they told me the steps in the process in the correct order.”

  • How to Catch the Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Thank you so much for funding this project! Books are so important in speech and my students LOVE these books! The books keep them engaged and ready to learn. We were needing the rest of the sets and I am so excited to start planning lessons for the new books!

When students are engaged in a read aloud they can ask and answer questions with more accuracy.

The 2 book series with the boom card companions allowed them to be engaged and silly all while working on their speech goals of answering/asking questions, following directions, describing, retelling stories and so much more!”

  • Treasure Treasure!

    Funded Sep 16, 2024

Thank you so much for fully funding this project! Each session my students earn "speech spending money". They can use their speech money to "buy" things like candy, prizes and, more I started the "Speech Spending" this year to help with the student financial literacy skills! The kids are so excited to see what new and cool things they can work for this year in speech! When I showed my students some of the items they could be working for, their faces lit up with joy and excitement. They could not wait to start working extra hard to get more "speech spending money"!”

*********Me and my students********* I’m a speech therapist at a Title I school in an urban area. I also travel to another Title I school once a week. This is my second year at this school district and second year overall! Every year I learn something new about my field and makes me fall more in love with being an SLP, but the thing that makes me love my job the most is my students!! **************************************** I service 50-70 students with multiple different disabilities. Even though my job gets more challenging every year, nothing makes me happier than seeing a smile on my students faces! My students are working on IEP goals that range anywhere from articulation to retelling stories to basic communication of wants and needs to social skills to describing objects and more! They challenge me, encourage me and make me laugh on a daily basis and I’m so thankful that I get to be their “speech teacher”.
