  • Sensory Regulation, Yes Please!

    Funded Aug 27, 2024

Thank you so much for donating t to our classroom! The students in my classroom have many sensory issues so this will definitely help them regulate themselves so that they can be more successful throughout the day.

As you can see from the pictures, the children really enjoy using the trampoline. What a difference this can make!

Your generosity is key to their success. I am so grateful for the support of our donors and volunteers. Thank you for helping us keep regulated!"

    Thanks again for helping us!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. D

  • A Wall Anyone?

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your Donations, our extra wall is coming in handy. At first I envisioned using it as in deed an extra Wall- one side for a word wall and the other for privacy so students may regulate themselves via a sensory sensory area with various sensory items. I am still working on getting the sensory area together so the wall has actually been used to minimized distractions outside the classroom and garner student privacy during instruction while still keeping our classroom door ajar for air in an otherwise stuffy classroom. Student do not lose focus during instruction or get distracted as the wall prevents that.”

  • Books...Books and More Books

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

The book sets we received have help my students in many ways. As I conduct lessons on rhyming words, strategies on decoding and using text evidence to respond to questions, I use the book sets to reinforce these lessons in small group work.

The books sets were used in centers where student groups were paired with books they can read independently and do assignments related to rhyming, decoding and text evidence. Additionally, the students read aloud the books and practice their reading fluency.

Many of the books in the set were relatable and the fact that many students in my Special Education class are reading far below their reading levels , it help to have enough books that allowed students to do group work versus work in isolation. On another note, one of the books in the book sets related to butterflies, which provided a foundation/connection for our science activity: The Life Cycle of a butterfly. The kids loved it!”

  • Engaging The Body and The Brain

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you So much for your donations! The students and myself use the whiteboards everyday during instruction, centers and small group work. They are able to use them to show what they are thinking and how they are solving a problem. We also use them to do tactile oriented activities incorporating physical movement. As in all cases, I am sure, the students have excited faces when they see new items in the classroom that make learning fun and engaging. We will continue to use these items throughout the year so that students will be able to demonstrate what they know!”

  • Learn to Love to Read

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation! The new classroom books were a welcome surprise to many of my students who are reading well below grade level and had few books to choose from during independent reading. Now they have a choice of books that they could actually read!

Specifically, my struggling readers were SO excited that they had the ability to choose from a variety of books and can now go "book shopping" weekly and swap out their books for independent reading. Books that reflected their culture and environment and books that allowed them to dream and fantasize.

Thank you so much for all your help in creating a reading adventure for my students!”

  • Print and Provide Access

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation! The classroom printer has allowed me to print teacher made differentiated worksheets for my students. Which allows them to better access grade level materials.

However, the most exciting thing for my students has been the ability to not only type their work, but also print it as well for presentation. It has allowed them to be creative by including images with their work, demonstrating their creativity.

But I have to say, the students that have specifically benefited the most from the classroom printer are my students who struggle to physically write out their work due to their Occupation Therapy issues. Now they can type and print their work with ease.

Thank you so much for all your help!”
