Scholars Need Support to Learn ABCs and 123
Funded Jun 3, 2021Thank you so much for donating to this project. We have been using the reading materials during our foundational literacy and the student have been working on matching the upper case and lower case letter . In addition, the students are learning their letter sounds. Being a teacher this year , is both rewarding and has a lot of challenges. My student am grateful that my students have these resources and we are able to build their literacy and math foundational skills. My students were very happy to see the materials and to have tangible materials on their developmental level.
The next steps for my students is to continual growth in literacy by learning all the letters and sounds. In math, the next step for students to learn more numbers and to learn more about how we use numbers to add, compare and separate.”

Digging into Decoding and becoming Readers
Funded Aug 22, 2018I can't express how thankful I am for the donations for this project. My students are thrilled to be able to access text on their level. In addition, they are able to practice their decoding skills and strategies . My students often comment on how they love the books and how much fun reading is. The Pads also are an excellent motivation factor for the students to reinforce their phonics and decoding skills. My students are three to four years behind in reading and they are eager to read and learn more each day. As a special educator, our main goal is to close the achievement gap and to be create readers and writers. Again, I thank you for the donations.”

Funded May 23, 2017My scholars are so thrilled to have technology that allows them to access learning materials via the Internet. The students are able to meet their Lexia and ST math minutes. In addition, they feel confident about the different concepts that they are learning in both literacy and mathematics. The books on their reading level helps them to feel successful especially for those students who are significantly behind. We can never thank the donors enough for making our classroom a place that celebrates the different learning styles and levels.”

The Future Albert Einsteins' Need Math Tools
Funded Dec 1, 2015Thank you for the beautiful resources that you supplied for the students in the resource room. The students have been using the resources to dig deeper into math concepts for example , I have been teaching a student how to tell time for the past few weeks and the games reinforce the concepts because the games are interactive.
My students were all surprised when the materials arrived and they kept asking me what are those Mrs. Neat. They were very happy to receive all the math materials and the core cushions. The core cushions support my most active learners to stay seated during instruction.
The next step for using the math materials are to use math centers, which will support differentiated instruction for all of my students who are learning disabled and to help them meet the demands of the common core standards. In addition, I want to foster a love of math for the students. The goal that I have for my students is to always push them to the next level and inspire them to love learning.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Google.org and 7 other donors. The Love of Literacy
Funded Sep 25, 2014The students were so ecstatic to receive the resources because of your generous donation . We can't think you enough!! The students use the wipe boards and iPad during reading centers and guided reading . They enjoy the multicultural books and they enjoy all of the center activities . It gives the students a lot to look forward to during reading and these resources have boosted their confidence.
My student use the materials daily during guided reading and centers. The students enjoy writing new words on the dry erase boards. In addition, they enjoy using the IPAD to practice their sight words or just listening to a story, which will help them improve their reading comprehension. The resources for centers in Reading Literature and Informational has provided the opportunities for student to receive an additional way to access these standards instead of always do the same thing over and over again.
This project has boosted my instruction in reading because it allows the students multiple opportunities to practice reading skills. My goal is to always help the students to revisit old concepts and new concepts to make sure they are firm in that area before they move on to the next topic. The students feel successful when they are able to complete an activity, which was at first difficult , but then they are able to have success in the activity after multiple opportunities of practice. Again, I can not thank you enough your support of my project means so much. Again I feel extremely blessed.”

Reading Success For All Students!
Funded Apr 9, 2014Hello Everyone,
I wanted to again thank you for donating all the materials to my resource room. The students were delighted to receive the read along books, and the chapter books. They were ecstatic that they are able to listen to stories for enjoyment and to read in a book club with their peers or along with the cd. My older students are enjoying the literature from Roald Dahl and Beverly Cleary. The resources have encouraged the students to persevere in their reading skills and motivated them to read. They look forward to reading time and I usually start my lessons off by having the students listen to a story, which will improve their comprehension and their fluency skills. In addition, while I plan my lesson I usually incorporate the materials into my reading centers, which will allow me the flexibility to work with more students during their reading services. I am so excited by the resources and knowing that the students are able to benefit from the project. The student also sign up to take books home to read them with their parents ,which strengths the home to school connection. Again we can't thank you enough for blessing us with the materials. Thanks , Ms. Oxford and her students”
