    Funded Mar 28, 2025

Thank you so much for supporting art in schools. These materials will be used to bring student artwork to life for others to see and support their efforts. Classes will also be learning skills and craftsmanship that they can carry with them into future projects and endeavors.

On behalf of my students and myself....Thank You!”

  • Art: Basic Needs for Jewelry Design and Display of Artwork

    Funded Mar 13, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. We just held our first annual Art Show and was a huge success thanks to the items purchased through your generosity. Students created many amazing artworks, both two and three dimensional and loved seeing they art displayed in the hallways of our school. Likewise, parent had smiles on their faces while seeing their students artwork displayed and enjoying the artwork of others as well.

Thank you again for supporting art in our school and allowing students the opportunity to participate in hands-on creative endeavors.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shelton

Thank you for contributing to our painting project. It has been fully funded and we should receive our items within two weeks if there are noany holiday shipping delays.

I know our students will be so excited to paint with an easel and canvas. I am equally excited to see what they accomplish.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shelton

  • Growing Student Mindset and Thinking

    Funded Nov 9, 2021

Thank you so much for funding our project. We have created an atmosphere in our classroom that impacts students' way of thinking and the way they interact not only within the classroom but also outside the classroom as well.

Through the creation of well thought out bulletin boards our classroom has taken on a positive and welcoming atmosphere based on teaching better behaviors rather than reprimanding a long list of undesired behaviors. This works right into our school's focus on teaching leadership skills and using positive behavior enforcement as a first line approach to changing student behavior from negative to positive.

Many items were also purchased for our class store where students could earn points through positive behaviors and spend those points on items from our class store. Perhaps more than anything, the very act of creating this atmosphere helped to align my own thinking to focus more on the positive and try to interact with students on that basis more than "putting out fires" from negative behaviors in the classroom.

I overheard a student the other day talking to an incoming group of parents about our classroom and her words were, "...in this classroom we don't just learn science but we learn life skills like how to talk to others in the most respectful way possible". She went on to describe our class policy for how to respectfully disagree with someone as well as how to state your own thoughts without negating the thoughts of others. Needless to say, I truly wanted to just hug that child and only hope she continues to grow in that experience and practice.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shelton

  • Making Movement Fun and Enduring

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you for supporting physical activity for my students in a fun and engaging way. It is my hope that students will be encouraged to seek out other low cost ways of staying active as well as becoming more aware of the foods they eat.

Furthermore I hope this simple project increases heath awareness throughout the years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shelton

Posters and positive behavior reinforcers will address the social-emotional needs of students by setting up a mindful and meaningful classroom. For instance, creating bulletin boards that correspond to our "Leader in Me" mindset we are incorporating for students beginning this year. I will also be reating a classroom store to go along with our schools' positive behavior program to award students for their positive behaviors in the school setting. Other items that also serve social-emotional needs are incentive items such as candy for quick feedback for positive participation in class. Also, fidget toys for our classroom store to reward students for our positive behavior emphasis we have incorporated school-wide. Classroom supplies such as markers, pencils, folders, and such will assure all students have what they need to be successful in the classroom. Since my science room is short on stools the 4 new stools will allow the seating needed to accommodate my students. Some of which are currently sitting on counters in the back of the classroom. The remote clicker will allow me to present our web-based science program while moving about the room. I will be able to have total access to my computer while maintaining proximity to my students.
