  • Reading Corner

    With your donations I have been able to give my students a cozy corner in our classroom where students can read their favorite books or explore new ones! Students have found their way to the bookshelves browsing different titles and sharing with each other the books they are reading.

    It's been especially heartwarming to see previous students come visit my classroom just to borrow a new book from the library! They love sharing their experiences with the book they had just finished and asking to borrow another. Thank you again for making this possible!”

  • Snack & Learn

    It is a relief for me as a teacher to know that I can provide a snack to students when they are feeling hungry and that is all thanks to you and your generous donations! Students were really excited to see the variety in snack types available to them. We know students basic needs must be met before we can ask them to engage in academically challenging tasks, and when students have that sense of safety it removes one more barrier to the learning. While I was on family leave, I was very proud that students took ownership of the snack closet and replenished it so that they and their classmates have a consistent supply of emergency snacks! Thanks again for your support towards our students and my classroom!”

  • Annotation Kit Supplies

    We are truly grateful for your generous donations towards this project that has given my students supplies and resources to help students annotate texts in English. Students were relieved that they could continue to engage with academic work in my class without the stress of buying more supplies, and they were excited to use supplies they know will be available in all their classrooms. Students have been using these supplies as soon as they arrived and have been practicing their annotation strategies in all types of texts! Currently, students are reading the short novel The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis, and are diligently practicing their annotation skills to make sense of the story.
