Knit One. Socialize Too!
Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation of knitting yarn and knitting needles to be used by my creative students in our knitting club.
Our knitting club meets two afternoons each week for an hour each time. We have a mixture of sixth, seventh, and eighth graders that join and the club is a mixed group of boys and girls.
At first, the students were frustrated with learning the basic stitches of casting on, knitting and purling, but now that they have mastered those they are all working on projects.
They were so excited when your donation was delivered! They all rushed to pick out their favorite yarn from the boxes and were eager to start a project.
The club also serves as a positive outlet for socializing and because of the mix of grades, the students have made friends with others in the school that they don't normally mix with. We play music and a great atmosphere is felt in the room.”

Funded Oct 17, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation of tangible rewards for my students when they are doing the right thing in class.
I teach the sixth graders each week for social emotional learning class and unfortunately a handful of students in each of the classes don't have the best behavior or complete their work. They often disrupt the learning of those students who are on task and behaving well.
Your donation has allowed me to use tangible rewards to give to the students who complete their work and have a positive attitude in class. These rewards motivate the off task students to do better and receive the reward too.
Thank you for your support to make my classes productive and fun for my students.”

Yarn to Knit With in Our Club
Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation of yarn to our knitting club.
It is so incredible to have seen my students work through the frustrations of beginning to learn the basics of knitting and now seeing them start to work on small beginner projects.
My students in the knitting club were so excited when we opened the box with all the different colors of yarn!
They are eager to make squares that we will put together as a quilt and donate the finished communal project to a charity that will give the quilt to a child in need.
In addition, the students are also using the yearn that you donated to knit hats and scarfs for the upcoming holidays and winter season.”

Funded Apr 28, 2021Thank you so much for your meaningful and generous donation of prayer mats to my students who practice the Muslim religion.
We honor and celebrate the diversity of our student body at our school. Our Muslim students are a minority at our school and we work hard to make them feel as welcome within our community as we do with all of our students.
Ramadan is a sacred time for the Muslim religion and our students take this time very seriously. In addition to fasting during daylight hours, they pray during mid-day. We provide them with a private room to pray in.
Now, thanks to your donation, we will be able to supply our students with proper prayer mats that they need to conduct their prayers.”

Funded Mar 19, 2021Thank you so much for your very generous donation of snacks to my students!
You kindness is appreciated every time a student receives a snack and thanks to you we have a large supply of them to hand out.
The school day is long (8:00am-2:00pm) and for many of our students their only meals are at school. Our students receive the snacks that you provided in the afternoon and supplement the school meals that they receive for breakfast and lunch.
In my grant, I only requested only healthy snacks to teach healthy eating habits that include snacks.”

Snacks for Students After a House Fire
Funded Mar 19, 2021Thank you so much for your very generous donation to my student and her family.
The family was devastated when they had an electrical house fire. Luckily everyone was safe but they had to move into a shelter temporarily.
Their life was turned upside down and the care that they received from our community (thanks to your donation) meant the world to them in their time of need.
Thankfully, the family is now in a much better situation due to returning to their home that has been repaired from the fire damage.
You have a big heart and it was very much appreciated!”

Punch Out the Negative Energy!
Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for your very generous donation to my student.
This student has many difficulties that are beyond his control and would be difficult to manage for an adult, much less a young teenager.
He deals with medical issues that are preventing him from returning to school to learn in-person and this has taken a huge toll on his mental health. In addition he has a very stressful home life where he is put into conflicts.
Fortunately thanks to you he has a better way to deal with his angry emotions (he was punching walls and making holes in them before your donation).
Thank you for caring!”

Funded Feb 13, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation of supplies to our school Comfort Bunny, King.
The students that are learning in-person love to come to my office to pet King, feed him and play with him.
On occasions when a student is upset and doesn't want to share right away what is troubling them, King has been a huge help to get them to open up after they have calmed down.
He needs supplies as he chomps away at his hay, and litter (yes, I have taught him to use a litter box, which helps tremendously in keeping his cage clean!)
Our school budget has been cut drastically this year and your donation has made keeping King a part of our school possible.”

Funded Dec 15, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation to my remote learning students!
We have a very large portion of our student body still learning remotely, despite the fact that the school has reopened.
Many of my students are struggling with their WIFI at home and this has impacted their academics. Many of the families have informed me that their WIFI connection isn't strong enough to reach all of the room in the home and having the WIFI hotspots have help by enhancing the WIFI strength and allowing my students to learn remotely in their rooms.”

Rewards for Remote Learning!
Funded Nov 23, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation to my students.
These Amazon gift cards have been so helpful in motivating my students to engage in remote learning. Remote learning has been very difficult for a majority of my students but for some more than others.
I have had an enormous problem with attendance and simply logging onto their classes. For some of these students having the Amazon gift cards as an incentive has gotten them on the right track.
They use the Amazon cards primarily to buy credits for their video games, which is the perfect way for them to unwind after a day of hard work.”
