• Gluten Free Snacks For Sensitive Students

  WOW! That you for your very generous donation of gluten free snacks to my students with special dietary needs.

  Many of these students who are gluten free don't eat during the day since our cafeteria does not provide gluten free food options with the exception of salad.

• Warm Solution for Crampy Times

  Thank you so much for your very generous donation of reusable heating pads and disposable covers to keep clean.

  My pre-teen female students come to my counseling office frequently when the are in "that time of the month" seeking comfort. Since we are unable to administer medication to relieve cramps, I am helpless to offer some ease to them.

  Now thanks to your donation, I have a supply of hot water packs to heat in our microwave.”

• Quenching Dry Mouths!

  Thank you so much for your very generous donation of water bottles and fun stickers for my students to decorate them with for in order to easily identify them as their own.

  Hydration is a key component to staying healthy and alert for academic instruction.

  Many of my students leave the classroom to often to use the water fountain in order to do this and your donation of water bottles will allow my students to stay in the classroom for longer periods of time.”

• Now I Understand What You Say!

  WOW! Thank you so much for your very generous donation of language translators for my English Second Language learners.

  Our school in the heart of the South Bronx has a high number of migrant children and students who are new immigrants to the United States. Learning to speak English takes time and being a monolingual School Social Worker I feel at a disadvantage to suppurt the emotional needs that come with being new to a culture, school and supporting developing friendships with peers.

  Thanks to your generous donation of real time language translators, I no longer have to rely on others to be a go between when having conversations especially those that are confidential.”

• Brr...It's Cold Outside!

  WOW! Thank you so much for your VERY generous donation of warm winter coats to my students in the South Bronx.

  Our school is located on the East Coast where winters are especially cold. Many of our students come from low income homes and some of our parents struggle to provide the basic necessities for their children.

  As a School Social Worker, I aim to make each child feel cared for emotionally and physically. With your help I can now provide students who come to school without warm outwear a coat that fits them and will keep them warm this winter.”
