    WOW!

    Your amazing and very generous donation of new and fabulous yarn for my weekly knitting elective group has brought many smiles and excitement to my crafty knitters!!

    I have been knitting since I was young and turned to this creative hobby for fun and especially during times of stress. Many of my South Bronx middle schoolers lack skills to manage their stress and anxiety and some of these students are the ones who select knitting as a way to relax with an activity and socialize with peers that are not in their usual circle of friends.

    Some of the projects my students are creating are fidget toys and weighted stuffed bunny rabbits with the beans that you donated.

    I can't wait for you to see the pictures of their creations!”

    My pre-teen female students come to my counseling office frequently when the are in "that time of the month" seeking comfort. Since we are unable to administer medication to relieve cramps, I am helpless to offer some ease to them.

    Our school in the heart of the South Bronx has a high number of migrant children and students who are new immigrants to the United States. Learning to speak English takes time and being a monolingual School Social Worker I feel at a disadvantage to suppurt the emotional needs that come with being new to a culture, school and supporting developing friendships with peers.

    Thanks to your generous donation of real time language translators, I no longer have to rely on others to be a go between when having conversations especially those that are confidential.”
