Writing Is Exciting!
Funded Dec 1, 2020I would like to tank you for the kind donations for the children. The children were very excited when they received Writing Prompts Journal Grades 3-4. The students write daily in when they finish a classroom assignment. The students have the Writing Prompts Journal Grades 3-4 inside their desk and once they complete a task, assignment, quiz or assessment they begin writing in their journals. They have the opportunity to write informative, persuasive and opinion compositions in their journals.
In addition, they use the fluency Card Banks to practice and reinforce their reading and reading comprehension skills on daily basis. The 5 Minute Vocabulary Practice Cards Grade 3-5 are also used for reading fluency and reading comprehension skills.
Finally, the children are extremely happy and excited to had received the academic resources that were much needed for the classroom. Thank you so much for the kind donation and please stay safe!”

However, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic I have been teaching remotely and materials are still sealed and not have been used. My hopes for a near future are to begin teaching in a classroom as soon as possible consisting of a classroom full of students.

Guided Reading Is Needed
Funded Apr 5, 2020We are so grateful to have received the school materials on your behalf. The guided reading cart is used to store leveled books ranging for Non-fiction (Informational and Biographies and more...)
In addition, fiction/non-fiction books are stored in the guided reading cart. The book bins are also filled with leveled books including a range of books related to different cultures, dictionaries, animals, Science, Social Studies (Geography & Civics), and more...
The students are able to located the fiction and nonfiction books in the guided reading leveled cart because, it is nicely labeled and organize. We are so grateful for the kind donations!”

Writing And Citing Evidence
Funded Oct 25, 2019We are so grateful for all the school supplies. The students have been using on a daily basis the materials that were desperately needed. Students are using the pencils, post-its, pens and copy paper. The students often use the post-its to answer to inquiries develop in class. When the students received the kind donations they were extremely excited because we didn't have many materials. I am able to duplicate assignments, family notices, homework, exams and assessments. We would like to thank you for the kind donations that were desperately need.”

Funded Jul 26, 2019How are you and your students using the new resources? Share a specific classroom project or moment.
Scholars are using the copy paper to develop writing pieces centered upon Hispanic Heritage Month by duplicating photos and information of famous Hispanic figures that have made a positive impact in society. Copy paper is also used to duplicate assignments, assessments, homework, and quiz.
The copy paper is an essential material in class and scholars are so grateful!
How did your students react when they first saw the materials?
Scholars were extremely, happy to receive the materials. They inquired when could they begin to duplicate information and photos for their Hispanic Heritage month projects.
Your donors got a little peek into your classroom by contributing to your project, and we know that they'd love to learn more. What are the next steps for your students on a current classroom lesson or project?
Scholars will continue to use the copy paper, pencils, and post-its in class to improve writing for all content area subjects. Especially, in English Language Arts. Scholars will continue to strive to produce the best work possible. Thanking you for supporting my children in this fascinating journey!”

Funded May 16, 2019I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for the kind donations. We are so grateful because, the materials were needed in class for the subjects of Science (Life Science) and Social Studies (United States Government).
The scholars will use the Lakeshore Study Microscopes to get an up-close look at plants, insects and more!
Scholars will also have the opportunity to attain academic English language skills by engaging in rigorous conversations while making observation, inquiries, and discoveries from the specimen slides on the microscopes.
In addition, the United States Government Resource kit will be used for
Reading comprehension, listening and speaking skills, writing prompts that will boost literacy skills— while allowing scholars explore the government's history and function.”

Funded Dec 18, 2018Scholars were extremely excited to receive the boxes of pencils, erasers,notebooks, copy paper, pens, markers,color paper, and hand sanitizer . Scholars immediately, began collecting pencils and notebooks to write their assignment task. Everyday, they have been using these materials to jot down important notes and assignments.
Scholars will be able to create projects in class related to Native Americans and Ecosystems by using all the awesome materials that were desperately needed.
Having copy paper allows me duplicate the following: study guides, exit slips, assignments, exams and more for the scholars.
Scholars and I are so thankful for your generosity for donating all these materials that are needed on a daily basis throughout the academic year.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Many of our donors love to read books (we do, too!) but don't know as much as you do about how to teach books. What are some of the skills or lessons introduced by these new texts?
Scholars will use the Solar System Activity Tub - Grade 4-6 and Solar System Fact Finder to learn the following: The solar system includes the Sun and all the objects that orbit around it due to its gravity, the Solar System formed around 4.6 billion years ago and there are eight planets in the Solar System. Scholars will also develop speaking and comprehension skills my using manipulative and books.
What does reading look like in your classroom?
Scholars enjoy reading non-fiction books and topics they could relate too. Therefore, the United States Match-Ups are great because, they correlated with facts when reading about United States history.
Are there particular students who are especially enjoying the new books, and how so?
All scholars are enjoying the books and academic resources granted to them by your generous donations.”

Scholars will use the Cultures of the World Theme Box to develop reading and writing skills. Scholars will learn about countries, continents and every day life of diverse cultures. Scholars will also learn vocabulary and language skills.
What does reading look like in your classroom?
Scholars are continuously reading and practicing speaking skills on topics related to the passage. Scholars are actively engage in reading activities.
Are there particular students who are especially enjoying the new books, and how so?
Scholars enjoy reading new books especially, if the topic in the passage is a topic scholars could relate too. Scholars are always requesting passages and books to read.”
