• Keep Calm and Learn On

  Thank you very much for your generous donations towards this project. Thanks to your help we have been able to create 2 thinking spaces for our students to use in their biggest moments of need. Students have loved choosing lights to help calm themselves while coloring, deep breathing, or using fidgets to recenter themselves. These spaces have been essential to creating learning environments where students feel that they can find ways to express and handle strong emotions effectively while also being able to return to their work with settled minds. These spaces have truly been an asset to all students and we are forever grateful that we have them.”

• Games for Fun and Games to Learn!

  Thank you very much for the amazing new games. We have already been putting the new Spanish games to use during reading stations. Students have been playing, building their conversational Spanish fluency, and have found speaking and learning in Spanish to be fun and engaging with the games. The English literacy games have been great to also use during reading stations and the kids have a blast working on skills like main idea and key details, cause & effect, and more. They are learning and becoming better in their understanding of key literacy skills and don't even realize it because of the fun of the game.

  The rest of the games have truly come in handy during the last few weeks of school due to the cold temperatures and recess being indoors. There are way more options of fun things to do and the kids have been excited to play together. Thank you for helping in giving students the chance to engage in learning and free time in a way that we were more limited before. It has truly made a huge difference already.”

• An Apple a Day Helps Us Learn Our Way!

  Thank you for helping to bring an essential tool into the classroom. We have already been able to have multiple screens up and running with resources for students without having to lose portions of the lesson based on limited resources. Literacy and math stations have been able to be changed and updated since we now have the needed technology to offer more supports. This has also allowed for smoother transitions and for resources to be shared in small groups which was not able to be done previously. Thank you very much for making our school days smoother and more supported overall.”

• Odds and Ends That Complete A Classroom

  Thank you so very much for your generous contributions. Having a fully functional white board allows for more working space for students as well as another area to display important information for students. Our old white board was in desperate need of replacement. We have also been already putting our new sharpeners to use regularly throughout the day. Students appreciate having a new calendar to keep up to date on important events. The new chalk markers make the calendar fun, bright, and easier to read. It truly helps students keep track of what is going on within the classroom and school community. Thank you again for your support.”

• Desperately Seeking Ink!

  Thank you all so very much for your contributions to this project. It is thanks to your help that we have been able to have some much needed ink to print color copies of card games and activities for students as well as print out any needed work when our school printer was down. Having access to vital hands on material on a day to day basis is essential for our students to be successful and because of your help, we are able to provide that. We no longer have to stress about whether the school printer is down or out of toner. We have plenty of ink in stock now to always have a fail safe which ensure that our students get what they need to learn.”

• Culturally Relevant Literacy Unit for 5th Graders Take 2

  Thank you all so very much for your generous donations. It was thanks to your generosity that we had the books we needed for our incredible identity unit. The students absolutely loved that the stories and characters within the book as well as learned a great deal of history from various parts of the world. Many students developed an even stronger understanding of what identity can mean and how vital it is to each individual person. Every day that we read together, students were excited, engaged, and had lots of questions. Not only that, but we were able to take some really fun pictures of students for a few projects including one that related to our identity unit. We took photos of students and placed them around a world map with the flags of the countries they identify with and put strings connecting their pictures and countries of origin to our world map with that of the characters in the book. It really brought everything to life. Thank you all for making this happen and giving students the opportunity to develop and even deeper appreciation and sense of pride in where they come from.”

• Brain Food for Hardworking Minds #2

  Thank you very much for your generous donations. The students have already been enjoying the healthy snacks and it has truly helped students stay focused during the school day on what we are learning versus the rumbling in their stomachs. When the new snacks arrived students were so excited to see the new options and that we finally had a snacks again since we had run out of everything. You can see how happy and surprised they were. It is also great that all our snacks are able to be eaten by all students since the majority of them are allergen free which is incredibly important for many of our students. Thank you for making their days brighter and better.”

• Restocking Essential Supplies

  Funded Dec 4, 2021

  Thank you very much for your generosity. Students had been running low on supplies like dry erase markers but thanks to your help we have plenty to get us through the year. Students use these markers daily during math class and they are a staple of our day to day work. The extra masks have been absolutely incredible. With masks getting dirty, sweaty from gym, or falling apart, we are covered no matter the situation. These masks have been essential in continuing to keep students safe during the school day. Additionally, we use the Clorox wipes daily to clean down desks and other work surfaces in order to keep the spreading of germs to a minimum. It truly has given students peace of mind knowing that we are being so proactive in maintaining as clean and safe of a classroom as possible.”

• Culturally Relevant Texts for 5th Graders

  Thank you very much for your donations towards this projects. Students have absolutely loved reading about the stories of other Latino youth from around the country and whose origins are from countries like theirs. The amount of history students are learning about Latinos and where they are from has been amazing. The rich conversations we have had regarding dictatorships, religion, languages, indigenous roots and more have truly brought our students level of interest and learning to an all time high. Texts such as this are essential to our students learning as well as a great tool to see themselves represented in literature. The level of value that this text brings to their education is being seen greatly and will likely have a lasting impact for years to come.”

  Thank you very much for your donations towards delicious healthy snacks for the students. These snacks have been incredibly helpful to have on hand this year. On a daily basis students who forget their snack aren't left to go hungry. They know where to look for a quick bite that tides them over until our late lunch time. They have loved the pretzels, the cocoa loco bars, the organic gummies, and all the other goodies. The students are truly so grateful for your contributions. Having a snack during our day helps give them the needed energy to continue to learn during the day without focusing on the rumble in their tummies.
