  • Rewards for Scholars!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for these rewards in my classroom. It doesn't seem like much to give a student a small charm or sticker, but it has made a lot of difference for many of my students. The Crocs charms were an especially big hit with most of the students. They would spend all day looking through the options if I would let them!

The rewards have been used as a couple of things in my room. I have used them as motivation for completing work and having positive behavior in class, and they have also been used as prizes for games.”

    With gratitude,

  • Spelling Our Way to Success

    Funded May 5, 2022

These books were such a life saver last year! My students had such a love of learning, and they hated not knowing how to spell words correctly on their own. This was even more exacerbated when they realized that if they were too far off, even spell check could not help them!

I had students at all levels, so the range of books was perfect to help them all. We started with a pretest to see what they knew, and then they were sorted into just the right group for what they needed. The growth I saw in just the 3 months we had left in school was amazing. Thank you!!”

  • Problem Solving with Wipebooks!

    Funded Jan 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation for the the Expo Markers and Dry Erase Wipebooks!

My students are eager and excited to work in groups, and standing at the Wipebooks, rather than sitting down and working alone at their desks, will help them even more.

Because of your donation I will have many Wipebooks hanging on the walls in my classroom allowing all students the chance to make their work visible for all to see. I can't wait to see the collaboration and hear the discussions about the many different methods my students use to solve problems.”

  • Let's Breakout of the Ordinary!

    Funded Sep 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity to my classroom! I have you used Breakout EDU with former classes of mine, and they loved it! I can't wait to use the new-and-improved kit with my classes now to expand our math learning beyond worksheets, quizzes, and tests!”

  • Learning through Read Alouds

    Funded Sep 25, 2021

These books have been a wonderful addition to our classroom! I know we often do not think of picture books with fourth graders, but my kids love them! The addition of great stories that help my students' social and emotional well-being was such a benefit for my students as they got used to being back in school.

The chapter books were also great to fill in the few empty times during the day. Those times never lasted long, but it was great to know that I had something engaging for the students when they came up. It was such a wonderful thing to hear my students asking for more reading time!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Monick

  • Making Learning Fun!

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

These workbooks were wonderful at the end of our school year! My students worked so hard this year and made so much growth. And honestly, we were all pretty tired by the time we got to May. These activities were a great change of pace that kept us learning and working but also letting our brains have a small break for something fun.

The best part was also being able to share the activities with the other teachers at my school. The students' favorite activities were the word ladders, and it was great to see them working together and broadening their vocabularies.”

  • Teachers Pay Teachers: For Us, By Us

    Funded Dec 3, 2021

Thank you for donating these gift cards to my class! The pictures I uploaded were just some of the visual items I purchased to help liven up my classroom. Even more importantly, I was able to purchase a number of activities and interventions to help make sure my students learned what they needed to this year. These activities also gave my students a break from our curriculum that get a little monotonous. There is even a little left to start planning for my class next year as well! Thank you for your generosity!”

  • Learning Math in a Flash

    Funded Oct 28, 2021

I cannot fully express how much these flash cards have helped our class! My students loved math and wanted so badly to excel at the beginning of the year, but they were so far behind the common facts fourth graders should know. I was able to send home cards for each operation, and I heard back from both the students and the parents how they were playing games and doing other things to practice them. And, soon, I was able to see this hard work pay off in class! They were making much fewer "silly" mistakes while doing our major fourth grade work with much bigger numbers.”

  • Flexible Seating for Active Learners!

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Thank you for donating these items to my classroom! The cushions, "peanuts" and other items were used daily. They became such a mainstay in our classroom, that I actually didn't get pictures of the kids using them. It just seemed like they were always in our room! The ability for my kids to sit somewhere other than at the desks and in their chairs was invaluable, especially as the year wrapped up. They could work around the room, allowing them to move and get the extra energy out. They were also able to get more comfortable while they were working which helped them focus on what they needed to complete.”

  • On Track and Organized!

    Funded Dec 21, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity to our classroom! Organization is something that we all struggle with: my students and myself alike! The magnetic boxes and pockets have been SO amazingly helpful! The students know where to get their work when they were absent and where to put nay notes for me. And I have a place out in the open to put the notes and documents that need to go home to help me remember! Our new timer has given the kids a visual representation to help them complete their work on time. And, the dry erase board has been so helpful to post reminders where the students can see them each day.”

I teach at a Title I school where 96% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of my students are performing below grade level in math, and due solely to the area in which they live, they do not have the same resources or opportunities as students in other parts of our city. Despite the odds stacked against them by their environment, my students come to school ready and willing to learn and better themselves. My kids love to have fun and want to bring their level up and become intelligent members of society, and I am doing everything I can to help them reach their goals.
