Delightful Decoding!
Funded Aug 14, 2024Thanks to all of you, my students will now have access to amazing books right at the very start of the school year! Your support means everything, and please know that every time we sit down and read these books, I’ll think of how many people there are that care just as much as I do about the future of my readers. I am sure to remind them of how many people are truly rooting for them, near and far.”

Funded Aug 23, 2019My students and I use the resources provided by your generosity each and every day. During our small group intervention time, we utilize these tools to enhance our phonics learning with multi sensory experiences. Because of you, my students, some of which who have experienced minimal success with reading, have finally begun to have those A-HA moments!
When my students first walked into my classroom this year, they were truly excited and curious about the tools in our literacy toolbox. After asking about them, we began using them, and the engagement I witness continues to amaze me!”

Keep Us Centered!
Funded Jan 26, 2023Your gift has been paramount in our planning and preparation these past few months. I have been able to intentionally plan and organize literacy centers that have been easy to share with my fellow classroom teachers. Having a supply of anchor chart paper has been so helpful in our collaboration process. Being prepared goes a long way in the world of teaching, and you've helped make this possible!
Our students don't always understand the love us teachers have for things like bins and buckets to sort our materials. However, when centers run smoothly and students are actively engaged, their appreciation doesn't need to be voiced. It's shown in their time on task and the growth they make!
The centers I've created this year with the materials you've helped us acquire are the stepping stones to next year's work as a reading specialist. I will be continuing to build upon activities that reinforce phonics learning. The alphabet is a code that students need to unlock in very intentional and consistent ways. The manipulative and supplemental activities we use make all the difference. Thank you for getting us off to a strong start!”

Funded Jan 2, 2019Thank you so much for your kind donations. They have impacted our year together more than you can imagine. As the packages with our supplies rolled into the school, my students' excitement was unmeasurable. "Miss Miller, these packages are FOR US?" As I explained that kind, generous people chose our room to help out this year, they just couldn't believe. Wonder truly struck their eyes.
Fan favorites of the items your hard-earned money gave us were the wobbly seat cushions for our libraries, and their own personal journals. The journals were absolutely beautiful and each student loved that they had one to call their own. We primarily used these journals for our Reader's Response Journal. They would write me letters about the books they read during independent reading time, and each week I'd select 10 random books from our journal box and write back in with pretty gel pens and cool stickers. I'd make book recommendations, and add to our own personal conversation about our reading. It was really, really special. You made this all possible.
The whiteboard you bought for our room was a true lifesaver. This was one of the biggest needs in our room, and when it finally arrived, my class cheered. "Miss Miller you don't have to teach us on that big paper anymore!" It made our lessons that much more accessible, and made my everyday that much easier. I was just as excited to receive this as my class!
Finally, the supplies you equipped our classroom with helped our year run a little bit smoother, and a lot more productive. Every student was able to participate in the activities that required crayons and scissors. Since I was a first year teacher, this little thing was huge for me. More than half my class did not have these supplies, and I just was not in the financial position to buy them in bulk.
I am forever grateful that this project was funded by YOU. You are the kind of person this world needs more in. You believed in us. You are special, and you helped my students feel special. I wish you absolutely nothing but the best!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Miller
