Thank you so much for supporting this project! It is a truly special project that will make a meaningful difference in many students' lives. The addition of healthy snacks will help students stay focused on learning. • Laminator for the Littles!

    Funded Nov 20, 2024

Thank you so much for funding this project. Having a laminator is incredibly helpful in a TK classroom. It allows me to quickly be able to turn any paper into a reusable dry erase activity, play doh mat, or sturdy game board. It also helps me ensure the signs we hang in our classroom last and aren't easily torn. With the laminator I've made bingo boards, find the number play doh mats, and counting mats. We also get very messy in TK. Laminating the student's name tags ensures we can easily wipe them clean no matter what has been spilled on them.

This project also brought us paper that matched my student's skin tone. We used it in a project about Martin Luther King Junior. It also brought us bright colorful paper that we are using to make self love jars! Thank you for funding these fun projects!!”

  • Let's Celebrate the Good Times in TK!

    Funded Oct 14, 2024

Thank you so much for funding this project! Your donation has allowed my class to have an amazing school year. Due to your donation we had an especially memorable 100th day of school. Every student received superhero capes, masks, certificates, bracelets, and crowns. We spent the day counting to 100 in a variety of ways.

We are preparing for Valentine's Day this week! Each student is decorating a valentine mailbox with stickers, foam hearts, and doilies that we received through this project. They will also pick out a stone heart on Valentine's Day to keep.

Next, we will get ready for our classroom leprechaun to visit! He will leave St. Patrick's Day erasers for the kids after making a mess of our room! Thank you for helping my class keep the magic and excitement of school flourishing for my students.”

  • Let's Celebrate the Good Times in TK!

    Funded Dec 14, 2023

Thank you so much for your support in funding this project! These resources have elevated our holiday parties, crafts, and created memorable experiences for the students. On the 100th day of school the kids were able to transform into 100th Day Heroes. Everyone got a cape and masks to dress like a super hero. The kids were so excited! They all got bracelets, stickers, and certificates to celebrate this exciting milestone. We made beautiful Valentine's Day mailboxes to collect all of the amazing valentines. Our classroom was also decorated with hearts hanging from the ceiling. On St. Patrick's day our classroom leprechaun popped in made a mess of the class and left Pop Its for everyone! The kids still talk about St. Patrick's Day! We will use the rest of the materials when we celebrate our TK Graduation in a couple of weeks. Thank you again for bringing this project to life!”

  • Let's Get EGGcited for Chicks!

    Funded Apr 22, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting this project! When I first told my class about the project, which was only possible because of your support, my entire class screamed, jumped up, and gave me a giant group hug. I introduced the project by showing the kids all of the chicken themed toys I received and told them they would be able to watch chicks hatch. The process was beautiful, meaningful, and inspirational. The kids learned so much about animal needs and how to respect animals as well. When we had to be quieter as to not scare the chicks, the kids happily played and worked more quietly than they were used to. The joy on the kid's faces as they watched the chicks grow was unforgettable. With each new step the kids were patient, inquisitive, and excited. We read about chickens, played with chicken toys, created chicken crafts, and observed the chicks from eggs until their feathers started to come in. The chicks who were named Sonic, Fluffy, Cracky, Messi, and Chirpy are now happily living at Underwood Family Farm. I have attached an image that shows part of the chicken coop that the chicks will enter when they are older. I shared a few other images of the chicks throughout the process as well. Thank you for making this project possible! It has been a dream of mine to hatch chicks with my class, so thank you for making that dream come true!”

  • Second Semester Supplies

    Funded Feb 7, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting this project! With the materials I received my students and I were able to complete our day to day activities smoothly. In addition, we were able to complete some really fun art and science projects with the materials. For example, we used the Styrofoam cups from this project to plant seeds. We were able to watch the seeds grow into radishes while discussing what a plant needs to survive. We also used a variety of materials from this project to create bird's nests and discussed how animals need to change things in their environments to meet their needs. The easel was also a great addition and really enhanced my lessons. The kids loved to use it during play time to draw, write, and to play teacher. Once the kids saw me use the easel to teach, they began to use it during play time. One student would play the teacher and teach to other kids using the easel and they would take turns. Your support really made a difference. Thank you again for helping to fill my classroom with hands on materials and activities!”

  • Celebration Supplies

    Funded Sep 22, 2022

Thank you so much for your support in funding this project! It has made the holidays in my classroom so special this year. For Halloween I transformed the classroom. The walls were covered with witch hats, bats, pumpkins, ghosts, and more! The kids were in awe of the classroom when they saw it. It made them so excited for their first Halloween at school. We just had our winter holiday party and I was able to make the students goody bags with the materials from this project. Coming soon we will have the 100th day of school and Valentine's Day to celebrate! Through this project, for the 100th day of school each student will receive a super hero cape so they can transform into 100th day heroes! I also have 100 themed gifts, classroom decorations, and glasses for the kids. I know that the supplies from this project is going to amplify how special the 100th day of school is. One of my favorite days of the school year is Valentine's Day. I cannot wait to celebrate with my class this year because of this project! Our classroom will be transformed with decorations, each student will receive a stone heart, and we have supplies to do fun Valentine's Day crafts. Thank you so much for making this year special for my students!”

  • Classroom Library Upgrade

    Funded Aug 23, 2022

Thank you so much for filling my classroom with amazing diverse books as well as the supplies to create a classroom library. Due to this project my class has book bins to store our books, a new library rug, and a large range of amazing books. I wanted to get a range of books that included important social topics as well as books that speak to my students' interests. I chose books that tackle hard topics like race, acceptance, kindness, growth mindset, and diverse families. These books have helped create a class of kind, aware students who persevere through challenges. I also chose to get books about animals, the holidays, and fun fiction stories. These books have helped create a class of students who love reading. The animal books tend to be this group's favorite books. They are always looking for a book about a different animal and thanks to this project, I have books about most animals now. Thank you so much for your help and support. It is greatly appreciated.”

  • Comfortable Student Reading Area

    Funded Aug 24, 2022

Thank you so much for funding this amazing project for my students. When the kids first saw the new seating area and the reading cushions they were incredibly excited. My class is made up of 4, 5, and 6 year old students. The majority of my students are only 4. With these materials my class is reading independently for ten minutes. This is a big accomplishment. I am incredibly proud of them for this. They love going to grab a reading cushion or finding a comfy chair in the classroom and settling in with a good book. Due to these materials, when I tell my class it is time for silent reading, they get excited! The class loves to get comfortable and look at the books in our classroom. Thank you so much for helping these students' love for reading to bloom.”

My students need these materials to help bring learning through the screen into real life. These materials are necessary for my Transitional Kindergarten class to complete engaging activities through distance learning. The materials will be sent home to my students so they have access to them for our Zoom sessions and their other assignments. Without these materials, the students will not be able to complete as many engaging activities to go along with what we are learning. If I am unable to provide my students with these materials, the students will have to rely on rote learning. This is rarely successful for younger students. By donating to this project, you will help a class of Transitional Kindergartners create memorable learning experiences. With these materials, the students will write and illustrate their own stories, complete winter crafts, shape art, letter crafts, and more. These activities will help students learn about the seasons, shapes, letter sounds, and writing.
