Keeping Kids Healthier at School
Funded Dec 31, 2011Thank you so much for your donation! My students are very appreciative of you for the disinfectant wipes, sani-hand wipes (to sanitizer), the tissue and paper towels as well as the soap. We learned about germs and ways to not spread them.
Children were able to disinfect their desks and chairs on a regular basis. Although, a few still got sick, I am sure it was not due to our classroom environment!
Students learned that germs are spread by not covering their mouths when coughing or sneezing. They made sure to sanitize every time they sneezed or coughed in their hands. They also reminded their classmates if any of them forgot to do that.
Because of your donation, my students were able to learn in a clean and sweet smelling environment. Thanks a million. ”

Pocket Dictionaries
Funded Dec 30, 2009I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donation.
In this age of technology, basic skills like dictionary skills have fallen to the waste side. It is still important for children to learn how to use this reference tool. Especially, children that are english language learners. They need to be able to acquire word and learn their meanings.
The sentences my students are now producing have improved 100%. They are also using the words in their daily vocabulary! Each child was able to take a dictionary home to work on homework assignments and share with their families. There were 5 left over for the classroom and students use them in small group work in reading and during writing workshop.
Other teachers have been inspired to write proposals on the website because of your immediate response to our need. Thank you for giving, thank you for your generosity. ”

Help Us Spell!
Funded Mar 20, 2008On behalf of the students and I, we thank you for your generous donation to our project. Children feel empowered when they do not have to ask their teacher how to spell something. I believe that being smart is not knowing everything, but knowing where to go to find the answers. Our students will be getting smarter because of these spelling dictionaries. They will take ownership to the words they list in their books and carry it with them to the next grade. It is people like you that help us do this great job. Thank you, thank you, thank you”

My students have their math books in crates under the tables and notebooks in seat sacks that can only hold 3 books. RESEARCH REFERENCE BOOKS FOR CLASSROOM LIBRARY
Funded Dec 23, 2003Thank you so much for your donation. My students and I are excited about the books we are about to receive. As you read in my proposal, the school has not had a science program in many years. The small selections of books I have do not cover all the sciences and now students are coming to me for books for their research and science projects. I am so happy that now, thanks to you generosity, I am able to provide my students with the resources they need as they explore the sciences and expand their knowledge base. Thanks a million. We look forward to flipping through the pages of these incredible books.
Sincerely,
Lorraine ”
