Math Stackers for Hands-On Learning
Funded Apr 23, 2024The day that our custodian dropped off our MathStackers boxes the students were intrigued. The boxes have been sitting in our room for over a week while we completed our state testing. Needless to say the curiosity was reaching a fever pitch.
Today was the day that we got to open the boxes! They were able to explore with blocks, build and play. The students had the opportunity to just have fun.
Next week we will begin to use the blocks for their intended purpose, supporting learning in math. Right now they are so excited to begin!!”

Flexible Seating for Special Learners
Funded Sep 13, 2023Your generous donations have allowed more flexible seating options for my exceptional students! They love the new seats and use them everyday. My students have special needs and often have difficulty sitting in a traditional desk and chair. By giving them the option of sitting and rocking on the floor they are able to attend and focus on the instruction that is happening in the classroom.
Thank you also for the purchase of a TPT gift card. This allows me as a teacher to modify general education curriculum to meet the needs of ALL my students.”

Wobble and Learn
Funded Aug 2, 2023The desks and wobble stools have made such a huge impact on student learning in my classroom. We have the freedom to move desks easily for collaborative learning groups. We have floor space opened up with the smaller desks so that students are able to work on floor or in student centered spaces that they design.
We all absolutely love the new furniture and hope to add more in the future. Without the generous support of donors like you, none of this would have been possible.
My class is eternally grateful for your support!”

Funded Apr 5, 2023On the day our package came, my class couldn't wait to see what was in the box. We had a class-wide drum roll and Ta-Da out came new math learning tools!
My class loves these new math tasks and manipulatives! We use them on a daily basis for our math learning. We are able to experience math in a multi-sensory way now. We literally can feel the number lines, the addition and subtraction problems and place value cards.
This is making our learning even more fun and interactive than ever! Thank you!!!”

Building Number Sense
Funded Oct 29, 2022Thank you very much for your support in helping our school learners grow! When our package was delivered to the classroom, my students couldn't wait to see what was inside. I told them that we would be working with another first grade class in the MPR using the materials inside the package.
Because my students are in a self-contained special education room, this was a great opportunity for mixing groups with their general education peers and working together. As students worked in 10 minute rotations figuring out patterns and getting a lot of number writing practice, they were having fun and working on great skills. My favorite quote of the day from one of my students was "I love learning!"
I have left the hundreds charts up the MPR for the whole school to use. We will be going back to work with our general ed peers again soon.”

Funded Mar 6, 2020The generous gift of books for our listening library is amazing. In our classroom we have a listening table where students are able to listen to a book repeatedly throughout the week. This gives them the ability to learn new words, understand how those words are used in context and get exposure to books that are above their personal reading level.
After listening to the book several times we discuss the book and talk about the characters, setting, problems and solutions and work on sequencing the events of the story.
The kids were so excited to listen to and read our new books. Unfortunately, they will now have to wait until we are back in class due to the Covid-19 crisis that closed our doors just after the books arrived. I know that when we are able to return to school these new books will be a welcomed addition.”

Funded Oct 3, 2019When we opened our box of books on Friday the students could barely contain their excitement! Not only will they be able to listen to the new books at the listening center they will also be able to use them as an independent writing center during our language arts centers. Students will be listening to the books, reading along as they listen, then writing about the characters, setting, problem, solution, and the events of the stories.
I think I am just as excited as the kids to interact with these amazing new titles!
I look forward to seeing their growth as readers and watch their love of reading grow.”

Math and STEM Learning
Funded May 10, 2019My students get so excited when boxes get delivered to our classroom. They like to predict what might be in the boxes.
When the boxes came with our math and STEM learning tools they jumped for joy with excitement.
They are loving having number lines that are interactive to help them solve addition and subtraction problems. We did a classroom STEM challenge with the marble run and brick building challenges. They are loving it!
I plan to have them expand on the problem solving in the brick building challenges by creating their own challenge and having a friend try to complete it.”

Funded Jun 14, 2019When our boxes arrived the students in my class where so excited to see what was in them. They came at the end of the day, so I unpacked after they has left for the day. The looks on their faces when they walked in the next morning was priceless.
With addition of the stools in the classroom my students have a different seating option that they can utilize. They love them! I have students who opt for a stool instead of a chair at their desk, use a stool instead of sitting on the floor and they love to use the stools at the computer station.
Thank you for giving my students another option for seating in their classroom.”

Wobble Seats for Active Learners
Funded May 3, 2019The day our package arrived my students jumped for joy! When I opened the box and showed them the variety of wobble seats and Therabands they were elated.
After a simple lesson of how to use the wobble seats to help with learning the kids were off to the races. They enjoy choosing the best seat for themselves, one that will help them concentrate and learn.
We use the wobble seats when we are on the floor for whole group, when working at desks and during independent work. Essentially we use them throughout all aspects of the day. My students love them!”
