  • Pre-K Tech Teach: Headphones For Students

    I want to thank you SO MUCH for you contribution towards head phones for our campus computer lab at Dobie PreK Center! The students were so excited when we were able to open the package. It was delivered right to our classroom!

    The computer lab at Dobie PreK center has been an exciting platform for students to learn important technology skills at an early age. They are learning how to use computer input devices like a mouse pad and keyboard. With that knowledge, they progress to navigating through educational programs that help reinforce their learning in the classroom! The headphones have helped minimize distractions so students can focus on the skills they choose to work on. These skills could be letter and number recognition, prereading and reading skills, or science and math concepts.

    This year we have another opportunity to use the headphones! We are planning to open our computer lab for the parents in our community who do not have computer access at home. They will be able to apply for jobs, pay bills, and apply for opportunities to continue their education!

    I am so grateful to be able to provide this opportunity to both the students at my campus and their parents. I appreciate your support!”

Many students on our campus do not have experience using desktop or laptop computers. We are building a computer lab on our campus in order to provide them with an opportunity to experience those tools. Our computer lab will consist of 30 laptops. Each class in our school will have an opportunity to use the lab for at least 45 minutes each week. Our students will be learning to use computer input devices while exploring language arts, math, and science activities. We have the computers - but no headphones! These 30 headphones will allow our students to take control of their technology experience by minimizing distractions from other computers. Minimal distractions = maximum learning!

About my class
