  • Get Tech Savy for the Future

    Funded Aug 23, 2014

The students in my second grade class have been so fortunate to be able to utilize our class IPad. Students have had the opportunity to engage in technology that is age appropriate and fun and exciting.

Using the Apple TV allows me to wireless stream word problems, virtual manipulative and math and ELA games that excite my students. It is really neat to engage the entire class in a game of brain pop jr. All through one app on an iPad. The Apple TV lets me stream anything on the iPad to model how to solve word problems, correct sentences and so much more!

I have been able to use camera application to mirror student work which is displayed on the board for peers to see the works of others. This is incredibly beneficial to providing examples of the class work.

I have been able to boost teaching because I am able to easily incorporate technology in to each lesson I do. This boosts student engagement in my class.

My class has become more tech savvy and more eager when we complete a technology based lesson together.

    Thank you for your support!

  • Reading is Fundamental

    Funded Aug 1, 2013

Thank you so very much for donating to my project!! The books for my class have been embraced and enjoyed by all my students. When I received the package they were ecstatic to get new books that no one had ever used before. I have a diverse range of learners and the books that you helped me get for my class fit all their levels. Students are able to use these resources during my English Language arts block where I implement the Daily 5, 2 of the centers (out of 5) require them to select books to read independently or to someone.

My students are eager to use these new resources at every chance that they can get. The variety of the resources allow me to use them for fiction and non fiction lessons, this is wonderful!! As a new second grade teacher I did not have many resources and these really add to our classroom library.

Additionally, the variety of texts allow for all my students to find a text book that is interesting to them. These resources have been a wonderful addition to our classroom. I have them in bins at each group and students are able to select books as they wait between lessons and activities.

thank you very much for your donation and to helping making our classroom and productive nurturing environment.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McCarty

I appreciate your support and cannot being to tell you the pact these centers had on my students.

My students are now in second grade and I know that my push for literacy and letters and letter sounds in the literacy centers fund by yourself truly brought my students learning to the next level.

    Ms. McCarty

My students attend a high poverty low income elementary school. Most of the students in my class come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They lack fundamental resources at home that assists them in learning therefore, much of their learning and discovery is solely accomplished during school hours. It is essential that my students have the access to high interest books during their time in the classroom. My goal is to create an environment where students learn to love learning and reading.
