  • STEM Challenges and Art for My Creative Firsties

    Funded Sep 28, 2017

First, let me just say, thank you!

Your recent donations mean that you know just how valuable first hand experiences and hands-on learning can be to a child. My students and I are full of gratitude for your generosity. Donors like you help make learning experiences like this one possible to children who could not, otherwise, afford these life-enhancing activities. My students loved learning about arachnids and insects and their habitats. There was so much discussion about it during the trip and after the trip. After the trip they went to work and designed a habitat for one of the animals they had learned about. It made learning fun and engaging for all of them.

Again, thank you! We love your support.”

  • Multicultural Arts and Crafts Supplies

    Funded Mar 8, 2014

On behalf of my first grade students, I would like to thank you for your contribution. Your financial support helped me continue in my mission and to give my students the best education possible. When we open the box my students were ecstatic. They could not believe that we had a sharpener for our classroom. They would no longer have to wait until recess or after school to go sharpen pencils to the sharpener located in the main office.

The multicultural colors was the highlight of the month. My students could not believe they had colors to represent everyone in their family. Your personal commitment was incredibly helpful and allowed me to provide my students with the tools to contribute to their success. Your assistance means so much to me but even more to my students. Thank you from all of us.

  • Embedding Technology In Our Curriculum

    Funded May 7, 2013

Thank you so much for your extraordinary generosity. The new ipad my students received thanks to you will make learning more accessible for them. This ipad has given my students an abundance of educational apps that are helping them grasp new concepts in math, reading, vocabulary, and spelling. This has given them an infinite amount of opportunities to learn in a more interactive and engaging way.

While the new ipad will certainly be a highlight for the year, the real impact of this donation is in the long-term, far-reaching benefit of knowing someone believes in what they are doing. You guys have truly given my students a gift that will last for years. It doesn't matter if they come from a low income school - there are good people in the world that recognize and reward hard work and determination.

I can't really say it much better. Your donation not only gave my students a chance to learn in a more interactive and engaging way, but it gave me as a teacher the support and encouragement needed to do the very best I can for my students. My students and I sincerely thank you for this amazing gift.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Martinez

My students are first graders attending a school located in a low socioeconomic area in Los Angeles. They are in a dual language class in which they are learning two languages at the same time. There are 15 boys and 7 girls between the ages of 6 and 7. My students are full of energy and are eager to learn new concepts every day even though a lot of times, because of economic hardship, their parents have two jobs to be able to support their family. Many parents are lacking time to spend with children and talk to them about the importance of education.
