  • High-Quality Instruction During a Global Pandemic

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

On March 19, 2019 all teachers and students were sent home thinking we were all going to come back to school after two weeks. That did not happen at all. We started the new school year with distance learning and very little technology support. My students can barely hear me, they would complain that I was glitchy, and my slides were lagging or would not open.

I quickly learned that to be able to provide my students with high-quality instruction I needed reliable technology. When we received the Macbook Pro my student were ecstatic. I was able to provide them quality lessons that would keep them engage and learning despite the circumstances.

At that point we were all unsure what the rest of the school year would look like, but thank to donors like you, my students and I knew we would be able to keep learning and stay connected. On behalf of my students and myself, thank you.”

  • Multimedia Equipment for the 21st Century Classroom

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Thank you so much for your extraordinary generosity. The new headphones my students received thanks to you will make learning more accessible for them. The headphones have given my students an abundance of educational opportunities to interact with digital tools that are helping them grasp new concepts in math, reading, vocabulary, and spelling. Giving them an infinite amount of opportunities to learn in a more interactive and engaging way.

I can't really say it much better. Your donation not only gave my students a chance to learn in a more interactive and engaging way, but it gave me as a teacher the support and encouragement needed to do the very best I can for my students. My students and I sincerely thank you for this amazing gift.”

My students are first graders attending a school located in a low socioeconomic area in Los Angeles. They are in a dual language class in which they are learning two languages at the same time. There are 15 boys and 7 girls between the ages of 6 and 7. My students are full of energy and are eager to learn new concepts every day even though a lot of times, because of economic hardship, their parents have two jobs to be able to support their family. Many parents are lacking time to spend with children and talk to them about the importance of education.
