Scientists in Training ... In The Need of Lab Stools!
Funded Sep 14, 2023I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of stools to our science lab. Your support has had a profound impact on the learning experiences of our third, fourth, and fifth-grade students.
Since the arrival of the new stools, our science lab has transformed into a more dynamic and engaging space. The students now have comfortable seating, allowing them to focus more on the exciting experiments and lessons.
During the first use of the stools, the students were genuinely thrilled and appreciative of the thoughtful donation. Their reactions ranged from wide-eyed excitement to enthusiastic chatter about how much more enjoyable science class had become. Your contribution has not only enhanced their physical comfort but also positively impacted their overall attitude towards learning. They tell me they feel like they are "real Scientists" or "college students".
The stools have become an integral part of our science lessons, fostering a collaborative and interactive atmosphere. The students can now easily maneuver around their workstations, share ideas, and actively participate in hands-on experiments. This wouldn't have been possible without your generous support.
Once again, thank you for your kindness and commitment to education. Your donation has made a lasting difference in the lives of our students, creating an environment where curiosity and learning thrive.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Marte
iPads iPads iPads... Mini-Scientists Need Technology Too!
Funded Aug 22, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. My students are able to use the iPads you have provided them with daily. The iPads are used during my science lessons that require each pair of students to have a digital device. The current science curriculum is brand new to the city and heavily relies on digital devices for each and every lesson. Students use a simulator on the iPads that help with their investigations of the content being taught.
You can't imagine how excited the students were when they were able to use an iPad with their partner instead of watching me use the simulator on the projection screen. They now can actually manipulate the digital device and learn from their own trial and errors. I mean which kid doesn't love an iPad? They think they're playing a game, but they are really learning through investigations that cannot be done physically in the classroom.
My third, fourth, and fifth graders are touched that so many people, people that are strangers, care so much about their education. It teaches them that we need to share kindness for all people, not just those we know personally. Your act of kindness trickles down to the youth of America and leads an example of selflessness and kindness that we truly need in our day.
Simply, thank you.”

Ms. Marte

Funded Jan 15, 2014Thank you, thank you, Thank You for your generosity! On behalf of my students we are so grateful and thankful for your donation to our classroom. We are now able to complete daily assignments and activities because we have our own printer in our classroom. And it's in Color! When the printer arrived the students were sooooo excited. They said in unison "Wooooow!!!"
We are able to print out the daily homework assignments right in the comfort of our own classroom. Our bulletin boards are fabulous because of our new printer. I love to showcase my students' hard work where the whole school can see, and because of our new color printer I can create bulletin boards that make them proud. They are excited to walk by the bulletin board and see their writing, their artwork and then their photos!
I am also able to use the printer to print out important anchor charts that I use to teach students specific reading strategies and skills that they can place right inside their notebooks. Students are also able to type up their work and print it out right in our classroom. They can bring home their work and show their parents and feel accomplished.
It's because of people like you that we as educators can do all that is possible to give our students the necessities needed to enhance their education. Being in the NYC public schools we are very limited to resources because of financial budgets and each and every day can be a struggle. I work hard to never show this side to my students and teaching them that the world is at their fingertips. If you dream it you can do it!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Marte
