Building a Diverse Dual Language Classroom Library
Funded Oct 3, 2024Happy new year! I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to start off the year sharing my gratitude. I cannot express how grateful I am for your kindness and support in funding my DonorsChoose project. Your generosity has made an incredible impact on my classroom and, more importantly, on my students' learning experience.
Thanks to your contributions, we now have [insert funded materials or resources] that are already bringing joy and excitement to our daily activities. My second graders have been over the moon exploring these new tools, and it's amazing to see their engagement, curiosity, and confidence grow.
Your belief in my students and our goals means the world to me. The resources you helped provide will continue to inspire these young minds and make a lasting difference in their educational journey.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting our classroom and making a real difference in the lives of these bright, eager learners. You have truly made our year extra special.”
With gratitude,
Ms. M.

Funded Jul 26, 2019We use the whisper phone on a daily basis during independent reading. Students get to practice sounding out words while reading without it getting too loud or distracting for other students while they are reading. These whisper phones allow students to whisper into them and the sound is amplified when it echos back to them (and them only). We use our book buddy bags to store books students use everyday to read with a partner. The bags make it easy to access and carry for a 7 yr old. We used the 10 plastic clean bins to organize our shelf storage. Students walk into a student centered environment everyday. They always have choice, accountability and access to all classroom materials. The bins store student classwork in an organized matter that is easy to store, find and manage.
When we got the package we were very excited! My class never used whisper phones before. Therefore everyone got a chance to use them right away. I modeled why and how we use whisper phones. Students have the choice to use them when they feel they need it. Mostly emergent and transitional readers use them because they are in the beginning stages of learning to read and need the opportunity to practice reading/ sounding out aloud. Students love having their folders with classwork neatly organized and in a spot they can access anytime. They choose where to place the bins. The storage unit is in the front of the classroom.
Next steps will be creating a more diverse classroom library.
Thank you very much donors for helping our classroom!”

Raising ELLs in 2017
Funded Feb 22, 2017My class and I are very pleased with the chromebooks! your donation has really brought a significantly increased level of engagement to my classroom. My students are having an enjoyable time becoming experts as they research topics and use technology. This donation has been a blessing. We use them in all subject areas. Although its only 4 they are used in small groups by different students everyday. Especially during reading and writing workshops the class is very excited to use technology. Thank you once again your all your support and donations!!! :)”
