Center Time Fun!
Funded Feb 18, 2024Thank you for the supplies of colored card stock, and Zip-lock bags. I have been able to make several games for the class: Kaboom Games to practice rhythms & note names. A Composition Game where the students use words to place notes on the staff, and a Notation Game for students to practice writing rhythms, and more.
The students from 2nd - 5th Grade have been able to use these games and have been engaged and appear to really enjoy playing them as a class and in small groups. They are learning while having a fun experience. I look forward to preparing more instructional games for them next year! Thank you so much for making this possible for my students.”

Zoom! Zoom! a Sharp Pencil's In the Room
Funded Aug 14, 2019I just want to thank you for the Pencil Sharpener for my classroom. When this was received it was right before we had to stop going to school due to the Pandemic. I wish to apologize for taking so long to reply. Your gift is being used on a daily basis for my classroom and students.
Last year I traveled to their classrooms. This year we are back in the music room. We are doing many hands on activities in the music classroom this year and having sharp pencils is something the students are always looking for when selecting one. They are making use of it when needed and it allows me to provide a stash of sharp pencils for them also.”

Funded Nov 8, 2021Thank you for the headphones for our Music Class. This has been very helpful for my students. By having these headphones we are able to have a computer center in the music classroom. The students are able to visit a website that provides them with supportive curriculum activities: playing online instruments, online games to practice music skills, reading online books about musicians and instruments, and more.
This is the first year in several, that I am able to teach in my music room and to have hands on activities for the students is something we have missed due to the Pandemic. Thank you again for supporting my classroom and students with this gift.”

Funded Jun 18, 2018Thank you for providing Time for Kids and Scholastic News for my students. We have enjoyed learning about firefighters long ago, spiders, and rotting pumpkins. The online videos, games, and vocabulary have been used by my students when we go to the computer lab every other week. We have also been able to use the online resources in class for whole group instruction and read-a-louds. Our classroom library is very small, so having additional reading resources has really inspired my students to read!”

Let's Make Reading Fun!
Funded Jul 16, 2018Our Storyworks, Jr. Magazines have been a hit with my students. We have a very small classroom library so having this reading resource available to my students has been invaluable! We have enjoyed reading the fiction stories about a boy and his dog and a school ghost. We have also enjoyed learning about dolphins in the nonfiction passage.
The resources that are available have been enjoyed by all. We spend a good bit of our time in a computer lab every other week and are able to utilize the online resources: read-a-loud, higher and lower level readers, videos, vocabulary games and more.
Thank you for providing reading enrichment for my students!

Hey Mom & Dad, You've Got Homework Too!
Funded Aug 18, 2018Thank you for providing my students with "homework" folders and "weekly take home folders". The homework folders are great. They are very colorful and sturdy. Our previous folders did not hold up very well, but these folders are doing very well for all the wear and tear they receive traveling home daily on book bags. The kids were very excited to receive these. Our weekly folders have come in handy also. They are the perfect resource for communicating with parents and sending work home each week for parents to review.”

Got the Beat!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you for providing my class with a Drum Kit. We have assembled the drums and have had several opportunities to try them out. My 4th and 5th grade students have been introduced to the drums and are very excited to play them. We have discovered that it takes some coordination to play the bass drum, toms, and cymbals. For some it is like trying to pat your head and rub your stomach.
We have work to do to master this new instrument but I can tell you that my students are welcoming the challenge. Thank you for helping inspire my students with this drum set!”

Funded Sep 13, 2015Thank you so much for providing new strings for our guitars. We are currently in the process of changing them all out. This is quite the time consuming task. It is nice to have guitars back in service that have had missing strings for the last couple of years. We now have enough playable guitars that we have enough for an entire class of students.
We have been using the guitars this semester to learn several folk and pop songs: Tutti Frutti, Lowrider, Found a Peanut, and many more. The students are enjoying this very much. Thank you for providing this much needed resource for my students!”

Funded Aug 15, 2017Thank you so much for providing the additional keyboard stands and power chords for our keyboards. My 4th and 5th grade students have been able to use them over the last two months and it has been great seeing them have the opportunity to learn and play the pianos.
My students have been learning five notes in C position and recently were given a packet of nine songs for them to apply their skills with some songs they like: Jingle Bells, Jolly Old St. Nicholas; Row, Row Your Boat, and more.
