Nestled in a border town our students are from diverse backgrounds, many are first time English language learners. They are very eager learners looking towards the future with hope. Unfortunately over 95 percent of my students do not have the economic means to be able afford snacks throughout the day. I try to always keep my students in mind whenever I grocery shop and have snacks on hand, candy, and beverages. Whenever possible I try to provide other essentials in my closet should they need them. I see so much hope and optimism in their eyes and I feel compelled to help them achieve their goals.
