Healthy Minds, Clean Spaces: Supporting Student Success
Funded Sep 24, 2024Thanks to the generosity of our donors, our classroom has been transformed into a more welcoming and productive space. The cleaning supplies have allowed my students to take ownership of their learning environment, keeping their desks and shared spaces neat and organized. This simple addition has encouraged responsibility and pride in their workspace.
One standout moment was during our after-school tutorials. A few students stayed behind to work on their assignments, and having snacks available made all the difference. Many of these students come straight from other activities, and having something to eat helped them stay focused and energized. One student even mentioned how much easier it was to concentrate without feeling hungry.
When the supplies first arrived, the excitement was tangible. The students eagerly unpacked the boxes, and some immediately started using the wipes and organizing their areas. It was heartwarming to see them so engaged in creating a cleaner, more comfortable learning environment.
Looking ahead, my students are working on collaborative projects that require shared materials and spaces. These supplies will continue to play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, ensuring that each student has a fresh start every day. As for our tutorials, the snacks have already boosted attendance and motivation, and I plan to continue offering them to support my students' academic growth.
Thank you for investing in our classroom and for making a real difference in my students' day-to-day experience. Your support has had an immediate and lasting impact!”

Unlock Potential Through Words: Donate Reading Novels to Inspire Underprivileged!
Funded Aug 31, 2023Thank you does not sum up how grateful my students and I are. It is with very heartfelt gratitude that we thank donors, family and friends for supporting my efforts in providing students within the walls of my classroom and of those in this campus access to novels that do not only provide cognitive sustenance but help my students travel and learn about other worlds, other realities and lessons in life that they may otherwise not have access to. Some of my students have read these books in a day or two, and it is beautiful to see their love for literature grow and being able to be part of that. I love being able to provide my students with a snack and a book that they may borrow whenever we are doing novel units. Every time we receive a package, I enjoy seeing their eyes light up in delight and excitement to know that they won't have to share a book among three or sometimes four students to do their work. It is also beautiful to see that students have a choice of novels to read in class and that I am also able to share these books not only with my students but with students in other classrooms within my campus as I am also doing this to enrich the learning experience for students within our campus. Once again thank you very much, I hope to reach my goal and have a library that all the teachers and students can share in my campus!”

Funded Aug 31, 2023For the first time my kids where able to work independently on their reading project. I read and they followed along with me. After my reading some where able to borrow the book to work independently and work on their dialectical journal.
One student devoured the book, she read it in 3 days. It was beautiful being able to see them have more independence to work on their reading assignments. Currently my honors students are completing their character analysis and novel project based on the novels read. It is wonderful to not have to worry about having enough books for my class or have to ask students to share a novel. They are now able to sit in a quiet corner and read at their own pace as they journal.
It was a beautiful sight seeing my kids, help me carry the boxes into the classroom and watch in awe as we received the novels that we so desperately needed. As department chair this also allows me to be able to share these novels with other classrooms that may be reading these stories in the following six weeks. It is truly wonderful to see that so many came together to help this little corner in south Texas. My students and I are very grateful for all the help that everyone has provided us.”

Funded Sep 14, 2023I am at a loss for words. My students are very appreciative to all those friends, family members and kind hearted people who donated to our classroom. This is not only helping them nurture their learning and curiosity but providing them with the sustenance that is much needed especially at this stage of their growth and development.
Many of the students in this community don't have the luxury to have snacks packed by their parents who for the most part struggle financially. I believe that every child deserves to have a snack especially throughout the day. Some of my students and students from other classrooms know that if they are hungry or maybe arrived late to school that they can stop by my room for a granola bar, a bottle of water or some juice. I try to always have something handy for them. If you could only see the smile on their faces especially when some of them stop by to say hi and ask for a snack to tide them over before lunch or during tutorial sessions. Seeing their smiles and their gratitude is priceless. Watching them sit work on their reading projects is very heartwarming especially since many time kids had to share a book or could only work on their projects in class and did not have the flexibility to borrow a copy to take home. A couple of my students loved the novels so much they devoured them in a couple of days, readily awaiting more books to read!
Personally, I am very grateful that this contribution allowed me to be able to stock my classroom with other essentials needed for my students as I try to have at hand whatever they may need and this donation allowed me to be able to do something for this group of students that means so much to me. Knowing firsthand some of the struggles that they go through at home breaks my heart, but being able to contribute to their physical and intellectual wellbeing reminds me that there is hope for them. I know my kids will go far in life and I want them to know that all this is thanks to this wonderful community of people that is always willing to help!”
With gratitude,
