  • Reading Makes the World Go Round!

    Funded Mar 30, 2025

The students and I are so grateful for your generous donations to our classroom. These books have added so much excitement to our "Silent Reading" time. Now we have books of all levels in our classroom and students can enjoy their reading time.

Also in our school we use a program called Accelerated Reading, this program allows students to read a book and take a test on that book. Each of the books that were donated are also on Accelerated Reading. When the students meet their goal of reading books they are rewarded in different ways. For example, they get ice cream, pizza, or even get to go on a special field trip. Thanks again for helping my students reach their reading goals!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rayon

  • Small Group Learning Rules!

    Funded Sep 8, 2024

Thanks again for your interest in our classroom. We are so grateful for your donation and are putting our supplies to good use. During our two hour reading block we must get into small learning groups. This is what we call DI or Differentiated Instruction. This instruction targets the needs of each individual student.

With our stackable stools that were donated, the students and I are able to sit together in and work in groups without disrupting the other students. Without the stools it's very difficult because each student has to bring their own chair and this causes a huge disruption to ongoing instruction.

    Once again thanks a million!!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rayon

  • Fourth Grade Writers!

    Funded Sep 7, 2024

Thank you once again for supporting our classroom. The students are now able to get to work in order to prepare for their state writing exam at the end of the year. The ink that was donated is helping us practice and learn how to type. Each student must learn how to write an argumentative and expository essay by May 2025. The writing part is easy but they must also learn to type everything that they write and this is the difficult part.

In order to be able to check the students typing I have to be able to print 44 papers every two weeks or so. That's a lot of ink!! So, with your generous donation I received 9 ink packages to use with our classroom printer. The students are able to write their essays in their notebooks. Once I sit and edit the paper with the students they can begin typing. After they type their essay in Microsoft word I am able to print it and discuss the mistakes and have them fix it. It is a long process but we have a lot of fun along the way.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rayon

  • Technology Rules the World!

    Funded May 10, 2024

Thank you for helping me bring digital reading to life in my room. The kids are enjoying the classroom I Pad very much. I have showed them how to download books and we are taking turns using it in class. Many of the students in my classroom have never used an IPAD.

This year has been a great learning year. My students have really enjoyed reading chapter books. Most of the class had never read a chapter book before. Now that I'm able to show them how to download books onto an IPAD and read them this has opened up a brand new world for them.”

  • Books and More Books!

    Funded Apr 1, 2024

My fourth grade class and I are very grateful for your generous donations to our project. With our new books each of the students are able to enjoy an amazing literary experience. Our school program, (Accelerated Reader) allows students to read books and take a test on the book when they finish. At the end of the quarter and the year students are rewarded with parties and field trips for meeting their reading goals. So, the more classroom books the better the experience and the chance to meet reading goals.

When the books arrived my students could not sit still. They were so excited. Most of my student's families can not afford to buy these books and especially the whole collection. This is one of the reasons that I wanted to give them this wonderful gift. Thank you for helping me give this gift of reading to my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rayon

  • Let's Blast Off to a Great New Year!

    Funded May 11, 2023

Thanks so much for funding our project the students are enjoying their comfortable chair while they are in their small group working on reading projects.

We are also enjoying our printer so much. Teachers don't have their own printers and copiers in their room. It's very difficult to print when we are working on group projects. This printer has really facilitated our time in the classroom.

Lastly, our post it chart is used for all of our reading skills. The kids work interactively with each other in groups to take notes. Thanks again for a wonderful start to our 2023-2024 school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rayon

  • Technology Rules the World!

    Funded May 10, 2023

We can not thank you enough for the impact you have made on our classroom. Before we had a charging station in our classroom we were forced to charge our computers on the floor all over the room, wherever we could find an outlet. By the time we came back to school the next day, the custodians had unplugged most of the devices during cleaning. Therefore, we came back to computers that were not charged and we had to start charging in the morning. Believe it or not this took a lot of time away from our instruction. With our new charging station we get to work right away. Thanks a million!”

  • Creating a Positive Learning Environment Through Technology and Organization

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Once again I would like to thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. The computers that you donated have helped my students complete their I-READY minutes, complete class projects and read books online. Before we received your computers we only had eight. Now we have eleven and this really helps with our classroom rotations during reading because most of our reading groups consist of eight-ten students in each group.

Some of the students in our class do not have computers at home. I allow the students who get here early in the morning to come to the class and catch up on their computer work. We are always very busy throughout the day and the room can become extremely disorganized. Thanks to the containers that were donated by you we are able to organize ourselves a lot better and store our computers and every day items in these containers. Thank you for helping us maintain a positive learning environment.”

  • Technology Is the Key!

    Funded Mar 2, 2018

Once again I would like to thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. The computers that you donated have helped my students complete their I-READY minutes, complete class projects and read books online. Before we received your computers we only had five. Now we have eight and this really helps with our classroom rotations during reading because most of our reading groups consist of eight students each.

Also, in the beginning of the year the students were asked to bring their own headsets but a lot of them did not bring them. With your donation of eight headsets we now have enough for each student. This way they can work individually and hear the program without interrupting the other students in the class.

Your generosity has helped us maintain a positive learning environment and will continue to do so in years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rayon

Having more computers in the classroom will allow every student the opportunity to dig deeper into our class discussions. It will also give more students the opportunity to work at their level during small group instruction. Many of my students don't have computers at home and these computers will allow more students to be given the opportunity to use technology and complete assignments that they can not complete at home. All of our students deserve the opportunity to learn and use all resources possible, regardless of their home life or economic status. Your generous donation will improve learning in our fifth grade classroom.
