  • Organizing Our Papers!

    Funded May 6, 2024

Thank you so much for contributing to this project! These resources have been essential in helping me stay organized during the start to this school year. The paper organizing cubbies are set up with each students' name, and these live in the area of the classroom where we keep our take-home folders. When students arrive in the morning, they put their folder in the take-home folder bin, and then I am able to easily transfer papers from the cubbies to the folders each day. This allows me to make sure important papers and completed work make it home in the right time frame.

Students are also able to build independence by putting papers in the correct cubby for themselves and their classmates. In this way, they have ownership of these materials, and they are able to help keep the classroom organized.

Additionally, the laminating sheets have allowed us to create reusable materials and cut down on paper waste. This reduces clutter in the classroom, and the students love being able to use markers to write on the laminated sheets.

I so appreciate your support of this project! Thank you again!”

  • Fresh Classroom Supplies!

    Funded Dec 15, 2023

Receiving our fresh classroom materials has been a delight for my students! We have been able to refresh our pencils and crayons so that students can complete writing projects with nice, new materials. Students were so excited to open their crayon boxes and see colorful, sharply pointed crayons. We use pencils and crayons every morning for our daily journals, and these materials look great in our morning journal bins!

Additionally, the index cards have helped me create much needed flash cards for small groups so that each group can focus on their individualized learning needs. The cleaning wipes are keeping our classroom clean and germ-free, too! I so appreciate your contribution to our classroom community!”

  • Headphones for Learning!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom project to get individual headphones for students! Thanks to your donation, each student has their own set of headphones that is kept in a cubby with their computer. When it is time to do activities on the computers, students can immediately access their materials and get started right away. Students have learned how to take good care of these important materials, and they take pride in the ownership of their own headphones. Three times a year, students complete a computerized test to measure progress. Having the headphones in January helped everyone focus on their own assessment and perform at their very best!”

  • Daily Journals Build Expert Writers!

    Funded Oct 3, 2023

We were thrilled to receive our Daily Journals and writing materials! Thank you so much for contributing to this project. With these materials, we have been able to establish a morning journal routine to start each day in a productive and positive way.

When we unboxed the journals, every student's face lit up! They could not wait to get their hands on them. First, we learned the proper way to use the journals, ensuring that each day we start on the next new page. Then, we set up our morning routine. Upon entering the room, students take out their own journal, pencil, and crayons, and begin writing independently. Peaceful music plays in the background, and I am able to circulate the room to provide individual feedback to students. It is a wonderful and fulfilling way to begin our day, and I am noticing students making progress in their writing and spelling!

Thank you again for supporting this project in my classroom. Our mornings have been transformed, and students are excited to make progress in their writing!”

  • First Grade Books!

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to this project! My first graders work so hard every day on their reading, and adding these readers to our library provides them with more choices to practice their reading skills. The phonics book sets have been immensely helpful in my small groups. With these books, I can target readers' specific needs, and use colorful books for student practice.

My students have been very excited about these materials, and I look forward to continuing to use them all year. The books make our classroom a happy and productive reading environment! Your donation is much appreciated.”

  • We Are Positively Organized!

    Funded May 23, 2023

I was so excited to set up these new materials in my classroom! The caddies and paper trays are so useful in keeping materials organized at each of our tables. The different colors promote ownership for the students, as each student takes a turn being the "table captain" each day. The "table captains" are responsible for bringing the bins to the tables, cleaning them up when finished, and putting all completed papers from their table into the paper trays. The students love having these responsibilities, and the matching color bins help them complete these tasks. Our classroom runs much more smoothly with these materials!

The posters are around our classroom to decorate and the messages help us stay positive and focused! Some of the posters are yet to be introduced to students, and I plan to do mini lessons about the sayings on the posters as they are hung up! I am very excited for these to be added to our classroom environment!

Thank you again for your contribution to my classroom! I appreciate it!”

  • We Learn Best with Materials in Hand!

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

The materials funded through this project have made more hands-on learning possible in my first grade classroom. Students use the markers and whiteboards daily to practice spelling words and writing sentences. They particularly like that we are now able to do our sentence construction activities with the white boards. In these activities, they have to take a group of mixed up words and put them in order. Using the whiteboards allows them to practice writing these words in order, and allows them to quickly adjust their sentences as they work if needed.

The clipboards have been immensely helpful as well. We keep both the white boards and clipboards in the seat sacks on the back of student chairs, so that if they need to write anything down when they are not sitting at their table, they can quickly grab a clipboard to do so. These clipboards allow me to bring students to the rug where I can more readily provide feedback on their work.

Thank you again for your support for my students! We so appreciate your generosity for our classroom!”

  • First Grade Mindfulness Matters!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Wow! I am floored by the impact of this project. Thank you so much for your contribution! When I first opened the materials, students could not wait to learn how to use them. They are so brightly colored and student friendly. We learned how to identify our feelings using the emotion books and the pocket chart, we practiced mindful breathing using the mindful mazes, and we used the sensory tubes, poppers, and wobble cushions to get out anxious energy. Students also learned to use the feelings journals to calm down while drawing.

After practicing with the materials as a whole group, I set up the materials in the bins in a special area so that students could access them as needed. Students have been really great at asking to use the "tools" as we call them, and I have been amazed at how taking a few minutes in this area can allow a student to reset by processing their emotions and getting ready to learn. This area has been particularly invaluable for some students in transitioning back from recess, which was previously a very tough time for some of my first graders.

I am so excited to continue to use these materials so that students can be at their very best for learning. Thank you so much for your donation to this project; it is truly making an impact for students in my classroom!”

  • Classroom Supplies for Active Learners

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your contribution to this classroom project! These materials are among those we use the most, and having them allows me to plan lessons that are interactive and student-driven. Students love using the white board markers as they respond to questions, practice handwriting, and work on spelling. We use the post-its to draw and write in response to text, and student responses are displayed on charts around the classroom. And, of course, we use pencils daily!

The more students have materials in hand, the more they can be engaged in learning! We will continue to use these materials all year so that students can write, draw, and respond to lessons. Your donation is absolutely appreciated and making a difference in daily classroom instruction. Thank you SO MUCH!”

  • Inclusive Library & Writing Journals

    Funded Sep 9, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to this classroom project! Thanks to your contribution, my students are able to view and read books in our classroom library with characters that represent our diverse world. When I first put the books in the library, the students were so excited to see characters that looked like them, and were instantly drawn to them. They couldn't wait to visit the classroom library!

During our day, students have opportunities to self-select books from our classroom library during small group instruction time. I've noticed students pulling these new books over and over. We've also read many of them as a whole group, so students are familiar with the stories.

Students use the writing journals daily, and as a result their ability to write about text is improving. The journals help me keep their writing organized, and help students write neatly and draw an accompanying picture. Thanks to your support, my students are excited to read and write! Thank you again!”
